PLAN MARYLAND was signed into existance by executive order thanks to Gov. O'Malley in March. I can not find the tax or fee rate. Does anyone have any idea about the rate on the roof square footage being charged? I was told by a county commissioner, they will take satellite photos and measure the roof square footage and send you the bill. Well gee, a barn, shed, garage, house etc., you get the idea. Don't know if I can afford to live in Maryland anymore. Looking for the details and when the taxation starts.
??
Is this for real?
If so, you’ve gotta be sh...er...Obama-ing me.
I guess you could do a custom paint job on your roof to make it look like the surroundings...
some nice digi-camo
Spraypaint your house and driveway a color to match your yard and trees.
Additionally, you could have the whole roof painted gray and the letters, “NO IMAGE AVAILABLE” on your roof.
This is for REAL. I asked if I planted grass on the roof of my garage would they be able to tell from the sky and I wasn’t joking when I asked.
LOL!!!
OK now everyone sitting near me is wondering why I just LAUGHED OUT LOUD. No Image Available! THAT IS A GREAT ONE.

Al Johnson’s Swedish restaurant in Door County, WI, has goats grazing on the roof.
It seems to me everything on the plan md website is speaking in generalities.
do you have a link to other info that talks about the specific info you apparently have about being charged something based on the sqft of your roof?
Make sure your deck awning is a color distinguishable from your roof...
The county commissioner that was sharing this with me sits on the state county board and he told me about the tax / fee on roof coverage on your property. The gov signed this by executive order in March and I can’t find out much about it especially on their website.
