Texas Gov. Rick Perry among those taking offense at EPA official's crucifixion comment (April 26)

Gov. Rick Perry took to Twitter this afternoon to say that a U.S. Environmental Protection Agencyadministrator's wisecrack likening enforcement actions to crucifixion is "unacceptable & offensive," one more reason to rein the agency in.

The governor was reacting to comments from Al Armendariz , the EPA's administrator for Region 6 (which covers Texas and the surrounding states). In the video, from 2010, Armendariz talks about enforcing EPA rules by making an example out of companies caught in violation.

"I was in a meeting once and I gave an analogy to my staff about my philosophy of enforcement, and I think it was probably a little crude and maybe not appropriate for the meeting but I'll go ahead and tell you what I said," Armendariz said.

"It was kind of like how the Romans used to conquer little villages in the Mediterranean. They'd go into a little Turkish town somewhere, they'd find the first five guys they saw and they'd crucify them. And then, you know, that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.

"And so you make examples out of people who are in this case not compliant with the law. Find people who are not compliant with the law, and you hit them as hard as you can and you make examples out of them, and there is a deterrent effect there."

An audit needs to be conducted of this guy’s cases,
and if any of them show him targeting an individual business
for “crucifixion”, he needs to be held personally liable for the monetary damages he caused.

Perry and Newt - the only two that had the credentials to be president and they were trashed and snubbed. They both fought against the enemy and voters allowed the enemy to win.

Exactly.

Run a dirty campaign, trash your opponents, spend millions destroying their reputations, and the idiots will pick you as their candidate.

He'd have to purge the entire agency and live with the flak about his "illegal firing" of the staff.

Or keep them on and live with the flak from the leftist staff about his "gutting their progress with the environment."

Either way, he couldn't win. The mainly slimy media would make his life hell on a stick, and Demwits in congress would be calling for his head every five minutes.

He might be able to replace them slowly over a matter of a couple of years until someone notices that there are nothing left but conservatives, but then the howling monkeys would start in, in earnest.

There are Environmental Agencies all over the place and there was life before the EPA.

The Dallas News editorial staff ran an editorial today bemoaning the resignation of the EPA Administrator, saying how great he was in cleaning up the air.

This is why I discount anything the DMN runs and dropped them a year ago.

“Perry and Newt - the only two that had the credentials to be president and they were trashed and snubbed.”

Tell me about it.

FR had a gang of Soros trolls who blasted Perry, Cain and Bachmann every damn day.

Where are these friggin’ pricks now?

They disappeared. They no longer post on FR. Mission accomplished. Now we’re stuck with Romney.

Most likely, these fascist liberal scum are laughing their azzes off because they found enough fools on FR to fall for their crap.

And it hasn’t ended. The next bunch of Soros trolls are running around on FR telling conservatives to stay home and not vote. I’m about to take one of these pricks down.

Stay safe FRiend.

Absolutely. And we ended up with the two worst, the second one now prancing to get the (loser) VP slot, which will guarantee the top of the (losing) ticket in 2016.

First off, Sarge- This prick is still here. Since I live in Texas, (unlike you) I know firsthand what a weak-kneed turd that Perry is. He is a former Dem that tried to push the TTC and giardasil vaccinations down our throats solely for the benefit of his friends with large checkbooks.

Second, Sarge- Soros is after the NWO (think NAFTA Superhighway, something many of us in Texas fought against), so it's hard to take an accusation of trolling for Soros seriously.

Third, Sarge- I'll blast whichever political candidate I feel like blasting. There isn't one of the current crop of political scum that are worth a vote. They all suck. Unfortunately, that is what we are stuck with.

I tell you what- do you want Perry? We'll give him to you. He couldn't hurt your state any worse than your current crop of politicians.

Thanks for dropping in, Sarajevo. I’ll address your points one-by-one.

Point One - I concede this point since I’m not familiar with the giardasil argument, and I’ve see plenty of arguments on both sides. Perry was a former democrat and so was Reagan. So what?

Point Two - I opposed the NAFTA highway because nobody in Texas could tell me who owned the abutting property rights along the corridor. Lack of that knowledge prevented me from making a reasoned judgment on the highway.

Point Three - I don’t care if you blast every candidate.

Point Four - You bet your bottom button I’ll take Perry. My commie governor ripped me off personally for six figures and ripped off other good people for many millions more. That commie c**t stole billions from productive communities and poured it into rat cities where it disappeared. Comparing my bleeping governor to your governor, I’ll take Perry everytime, all the time. I see him as a conservative

I don't understand the stupidity of some people in Dallas do they not understand that Dallas was built on the back of big oil and early oil exploration? Obviously these reporters know nothing of the history of where they call home.
