I’m sure he was let go with a promise that he’ll be back on board after the victory—when conservatives are no longer wanted or needed. That’s how Romney works.

Excellent post, AB!
Your last point is the essence of social corporatism. It is a type of socialism, and it is a great grandchild of the economic views of Benito Mussolini’s fascism.
Your initial points all fall under the “3rd Way” ideology which is focus on economy and not on social issues.

The Person he choses as V.P. will be very telling.
We don’t need a “Vanilla” RINO Gop-Er. What he needs to do to win the hearts of Conservatives is to Pick a Jim DeMint type.

He was not “let go”. He quit and made a fuss. I bet the Romney campaign did everything it could think of to keep him.

Is he really gone or is he a “kitchen cabinet member” ala andrew jackson?
Hopefully Romney will get the message and cut the BS regading social and fiscal balkanization.
conservative is conservative, there is no nuance.

I want to thank Governor Romney for his belief in me and my abilities and his clear message to me that being openly gay was a non-issue for him and his team.
That’s bad news, way overshadows any “good” news. Romney still likes perverts, this one got caught, that’s all.

Of course, the real question is--why was he there in the first place?

He’ll probably have a seat under the table.

Of course, the real question is--why was he there in the first place? A trial balloon. Romney and the RINO establishment he represents were taking a measure of the resolve and strength of their conservative opponents.

Are you people nuts. The Obama administration is rife with gays and lesbians in many positions. Most of us think that Potus himself is gay.
Yet here you are trashing Romney because one gay adviser resigned.
Do you really want Obama for four more years or have you just totally lost touch with reality?

I think it’ll never happen.
Personally, I don’t care who Mutt’s VP pick is. The problem with putting earrings on a hog is that, in the end, it’s still a hog.
