Mormon Bishop Mitt Romney’s Anti-Christian Religion
http://defendchristians.org ^ | April 13, 2012 | http://defendchristians.org

Many naive Americans believe that Mormonism is merely another branch of protestant Christianity. Well that’s not what the founders and leaders of Mormonism believed.

According to its founder, Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, Smith’s successor, Mormons are the only true people of God on the earth. All non-Mormons and their religions are “wrong, an abomination, blind, damned, of the devil, whores, not Christians, groveling in darkness, heathens, ignorant, devoid of fact, pagan and hatched in Hell.”

When Romney made a speech about his religion in 2008 he refused to distance himself from his faith and fully affirmed his Mormonism. Responding to critics, Romney said,

"They would prefer it if I would simply distance myself from my religion, say that it is more a tradition than my personal conviction, or disavow one or another of its precepts. That I will not do. I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers - I will be true to them and to my beliefs."

Romney, the father of homosexual marriage in America and abortion funding Romney Care in Massachusetts, flip-flops on virtually every issue, but he is adamant about his anti-Christian Mormonism. Romney needs the vote of Christians to win election, but he refuses to “disavow one or another of its precepts.”

Nor can anyone think Romney is merely a casual or cultural Mormon who just happened to be born Mormon. He is an active Bishop in the Mormon church hierarchy. He cannot pretend to be ignorant of the teaching of Joseph Smith and the other “prophets” of Mormonism.

Below is a list of quotes from Mormon leaders and official publications starting with Joseph Smith down to our day. The message is consistent and clear.

I don’t want some lemming in America to be sucked into the dead end of Mormonism because of one being POTUS.

It would be bad enough if it stopped there but mormonism has thousands of "missionaries" all over the world - including Paris, France, where Myth evaded the draft during the Viet Nam era.

The "missionaries will have a new and persuasive (to many) talking point, "just look, the President of the United States is a Mormon, it must be alright".

Mormons do that too, but at least they have been able to keep their religion running for more than the career of one preacher.

Mr. Millet:

I don't think we can ever transcend Joseph Smith or consider him to be a valued personality, but now we'll move on.
I don't think you'll see that among believers in the faith, because there are too many other things that came from him
that are the reasons why we do what we do and we are what we are. That there are unanswered questions, to be sure.
That there are things that I'm as anxious as the next guy to learn more detail on, I really want to know. But in the interim,
it really doesn't, doesn't trouble me.
We're in the religion-making business, as you intimated earlier, only for a short time, I mean, compared to the
Christian church, which has been at this for a couple of millennia. We're about halfway to Nicaea.
And so, and so in that sense — I remember a very tender moment. I was speaking with — I've been invited
to the Salt Lake Theological Seminary, basically an Evangelical seminary, to discuss a book I had done on Jesus.
And they had read it, and they wanted me to come and just respond to questions.
And it was, it was a very enjoyable couple of hours.

The very last question that was asked by one of my friends there was this one.

He said, 'Bob, what can we do for you?'

And I, I wasn't ready for that question. I said, 'What do you mean?'

He said, 'What can we, as Evangelicals, do for our Mormon friends?'

And I, I guess my mind could have gone a hundred different ways, but what I came back with was this.

I said, 'Boy, I appreciate you asking that. I don't think I've ever been asked that.'

But, but I said, 'Try this. Cut us a little slack, will you? Give us a little time.
We're in the religion-making business, and this takes time. It takes centuries.

And, and trying to explain the faith and articulate the faith, that doesn't come over night.
We've really only been about that for 20 or 30 years.'

Oh, no...their prophets are all perfect...it’s just that the records of their prophecies were translated incorrectly...

In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these “Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet”, for our salvation depends on them.

1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say “Thus Saith the Lord,” to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by men’s reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidency—the highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidency—the living prophet and the First Presidency—follow them and be blessed—reject them and suffer.

I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captain—how close do our lives harmonize with the Lord’s anointed—the living Prophet—President of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.

Ezra Taft Benson

I didn't know about the child sacrifice and witchcraft. But if you say so.

On the other hand, our Roman brothers and sisters definitely practice idolatry. And what about cannibalism? I mean, they say they eat the REAL body and blood of our Lord Jesus. If that's not cannibalism, I don't know what is.

So let's bash away!

First they came for the Jews. Then they came for the Mormons. Then they came for the mentally retarded morons, a/k/a Romneybots. Then they came for the Catholics. Then . . . .

There is no doubt that mormonism considers historic Christian churches to be the spawn of hell, the whore of Babylon, destined for destruction.

That isn’t why I object to Romney.

I object to Romney because he’s the author of the $50 abortion, the originator of the gay marriage licence, an advocate of increased fees/taxes, an avowed opponent of the 2nd amendment, the creator of ObamaCare, a perpetrator of Medicare Fraud, a crony corporatist, and an advocate of homosexual boy scout leaders.

Mormons could hate kittens, but that isn’t important. What’s important is Romney’s history of radical liberalism, 3rd way elitism, and social corporatism.

Obama had a Muslim father and a Muslim stepfather
He went to Koran memorization & recitation (brainwashing) classes in Indonesia. He lived in Muslim Indonesia for four of his most formative years...age 6 to age 10...when children get imprinted with life long beliefs

At minimum Obama is a huge Muslim sympathizer and dittos for people serving in his administration. Obama and his State Department are sucking up to the Muslim brotherhood

Where would you or I rather live in? A Muslim dominated neighborhood or a Mormon dominated neighborhood? Choice is easy for me. We have some DNC operatives here trying to tear down Romney and Mormonism.

We have some DNC operatives here trying to tear down Romney and Mormonism. If they are not DNC operatives then they are stupid to post such voluminous drek without compensation.

If Obama's people have any brains they can come to FR and get some useful anti-Romney (meaning pro-Obama) material here from these anti-Mormon, energizer posting bunnies

a perpetrator of Medicare Fraud, a crony corporatist, and an advocate of homosexual boy scout leaders. Mormons could hate kittens, but that isn’t important. What’s important is Romney’s history of radical liberalism, 3rd way elitism, and social corporatism.

Nonetheless he is 100x better than Obama and I'll be voting Romney. As President of the US he will not be tilting so far left. Gotta remember this is what he did in Massachusetts, the most liberal state in the Union who elected Ted Kennedy 6 or more times

Romney is a centrist. He is not a radical liberal and he, his wife and family do not live the lifestyle of liberals

I have to disagree with you dennis. I’ve not doubt that romney is a radical liberal. His positions are all those of a radical liberal and not those of a centrist.

While I respect your decision to vote for whomever you wish, I will be voting for a conservative, Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party.

Actually I would like to learn about the Mormon method of child rearing and successful , prosperous business building within the framework of the law. When was the last time I heard of a family scandal, shooting or criminal business dealing involving a Mormon? UUmmm . . . quite awhile IF EVER. It is rare to hear of a Mormon scandal of any kind.

You won't see reports of "family scandals" by only reading websites belonging to the mormon church.

Also, THIS family scandal was reported on FR in many threads. Guess you missed it.

Perhaps. I still cannot violate my conscience and vote for Mitt. I have been finding strength in Daniel 1, even when under a pagan king, he stood for his faith, no matter the cost. I shall do the same.

As will I.

The Susan Powell case where the husband killed the children, the wife still missing.

The reason why people don't hear about Mormon crimes is that they have to read beyond the headlines to find out whether the people involved are mormons or not.

The Constitution Party garnered 200,000 votes in Ohio for their candidate for the lowly position of Attorney General in the last cycle election.

That’s huge! There is a huge hunger for a conservative candidate for the presidency.

muslim ... thats much worse than mormons.
_______________________________________________

Not according to the mormons..

To them Christianity is worse than Islam..

The great great grandfather of Willard Mitt Romney...

(One of his “fathers of faith” that Willard agrees with)

On this account, on the simple subject of the Deity and His worship, if nothing more, I should rather incline, of the two, after all my early traditions, education, and prejudices, to the side of Mahomet, for on this point he is on the side of truth, and the Christian world on the side of idolatry and heathenism.” - Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.38

“..instead of saying that Mahometanism prevailed against Christianity, and that Christianity was in danger of being done away by its prevalence, we would rather say, that where Mahometanism prevailed, it taught and established one truth at least, viz., the true and living God, and so far as this went, it did preserve people from worshipping idols. And had the crescent waved on the tower of London, or on the church of St. Paul, instead of the cross, and had the Mahometan religion been enforced instead of the Roman religion that was enforced for a series of generations, and had tradition riveted what the sword enforced, then that nation and the surrounding nations would have been worshippers of one true God instead of idols; - Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.39

my rational faculties would compel me to admit that the Mahometan history and Mahometan doctrine was a standard raised against the most corrupt and abominable idolatry that over perverted our earth, found in the creeds and worship of Christians, falsely so named.” - Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.40

So far as that one point is concerned, of worshipping the one true God under the name of Mahometanism, together with many moral precepts, and in war only acting on the defensive, I think they have exceeded in righteousness and truthfulness of religion, the idolatrous and corrupt church that has borne the name of Christianity.” - Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.41

And so what does Willard think about that ???

Mitt Romney, Dec, 2007, speaking @ the George Bush Presidential Library: “I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers – I will be true to them and to my beliefs.”

“I think the old standby definitions of who votes for which party have been blown away in this campaign. I think people recognize that I’m not a partisan Republican—that I’m someone who is moderate, and that my views are progressive.”
-Mitt Romney (2002)

Will Mormons’ racial history be a problem for Mitt Romney?

...Tim Russert noted that Romney was 31 when the priesthood ban was lifted in 1978. “Didn’t you think, ‘What am I doing part of an organization that is viewed by many as a racist organization?’” Russert asked.

“I’m very proud of my faith, and it’s the faith of my fathers,” Romney answered. “And I’m not going to distance myself from my faith in any way.”

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/on-faith/will-mormons-racial-history-be-a-problem-for-mitt-romney/2012/01/31/gIQAdtK1fQ_story.html

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2840950/posts

“Which path would Mitt Romney have taken?” asks the onscreen text. The video recalls Romney’s contention, in an April 2007 interview with the Associated Press, that Americans will not be markedly safer if bin Laden were killed and that “it’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”

Romney stated: “I believe in my Mormon faith and endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers. I will be true to them and to my beliefs,”

http://digg.com/newsbar/Election2012/faith_of_my_fathers_mitt_romney_seeks_to_silence_questions_dogging_mormons_in_politics.

and this is what you are anxious to replace Obama with..

FWIW, I grew up in a Southern Baptist church that considered the Roman Catholic Church to be the "whore of Babylon." I heard this MANY times in bible studies. To them, the Mormons were a cult, but not anywhere on a par with the Catholics.

Today I am a Pentecostal/"word of faith" guy. You cannot imagine what is said about my faith by "mainstream" Christians. So it doesn't strike me as unusual at all that "mormonism" considers others to be guilty of these same things.
