For the first time, California would ask its contractors if they are gay under legislation passed Monday by the Assembly.

The measure, Assembly Bill 1960, would enable the owners of businesses that contract with the state to identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. It would not require them to do so.

If it will get me the contract..."You betcha, Isn't that suuuuppperr"

My point being that I'm betting a lot of "gay contractors" will suddenly appear if it helps them win bids. Heck, it's not as if the State can or will make you prove your gay, so it's essentially on the honor system and it's not like race or gender, where you can tell by looking.

Percentage of Californians who identify as homosexual is expected to approach 80%.

That's a win-win for the Left.

Wasn’t their mantra “Government out of the bedroom”?

Pretty funny. Reminds me of the move from Jim Crow to Affirmative action. We went from “government enforced racism to government mandated racism”.

What a tangled web we weave.

Discriminatory. Any information you collect in the bidding process will ultimately affect the selection process. Are they now going to openly discriminate against gay contractors? Or are they going to discriminate against straight contractors? "Why, of course not!" the libs will shout... If you're not going to discriminate, then gay/straight cannot be part of your selection criteria. If it can't be used as selection criteria, then it does not need to be known and should not be known.

If you collect the info, you're going to - even subconsciously - use the info. That's discriminatory, period. Nobody but your spouse/significant other needs to know what goes on in your bedroom. Don't run around making your private life public.

California is controlled by Government sector unions, homosexuals, mexicans, Africans and a few very rich white liberals. We are only one step away from white christians being required to wear a large yellow cross on their shirts so that they are easily shunned.

Beautiful geography filled with rot...

As California goes so goes the nation....

Reminds me of that movie scene when the woman goes screaming into the parking lot: "Is everybody gay? Is this the Twilight Zone?"

I had this thought many years ago- affirmitave action and reparations for gays. I knew that this would be the progression of things. normlaize then peanlize . the whole world is going nuts in my estimation. as usual california leads the way. I get frustrated, scared and mad as hell thet this kind of crap thet this great country, founded with the hand of God has devolved into.
I am thankful for many things the least of whoch is not the fact that this website is aconservative area where you will not be hated for saying what you think is right. I made the mistake of rying to post on a few other websites. I was nice a courteous and respectful at first but the level of hate when one strays from the party line is pathetic. the hate and vitriol these folks spew is just dumbfounding.
