BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
Birmingham police say a 13-year-old robbery suspect was shot and killed by the person he tried to rob in Birmingham Friday night.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirms the teen's identity as Jaqures Cortez Walker of Birmingham. He was a 7th grade student at Martha Gaskin Middle School and the quarterback for the football team, according to a family member.
BPD Sgt. Johnny Williams said the teen suspect approached a couple as they pulled into their home at the gated Skyview Condominiums in the 400 block of Skyview Drive around 11:10pm. Friday, April 27. Skyview Drive is off Robert Jemison Road. The suspect had a T-shirt over his face like a bandana and was holding a cocked and loaded gun, Williams said.
Police say the would-be robber approached the male occupant of the car and told him to "Get out and give it up." The man had his own gun in the car and shot the teenager. The teen ran a few feet, collapsed and died at the scene, Williams said.

Jaqures' 19-year-old brother told Fox 6 that Jaqures was in the front yard of their home Friday night with some friends and told his family they were going to the store. The brother says Jaqures never came home.
probably going to get skittles and iced tea for his brother...
oh wait, I must be on the wrong thread.

, without a Stand Your Ground law, the man who defended himself against the little thug would have a duty to to take a bullet in the back in order to avoid prosecution. A bullet in the back for the robbery victim would turn the heinous murder of a little boy into an accidental shooting by an autonomous gun.

It took awhile but we are beginning to reap the seeds that were sown long ago.
Beginning? And what do you mean "we?"
The sowing took place in the 60s/70s and the "reaping" has been going on since then.
And to prove how stupid these "peeps" are - they STILL don't realize they are destroying their entire race.

Many are illiterate, unfortunately. But I do think there is a mindset permeating the black community/culture that it's cool to talk unintelligently. On a regular basis, I'll overhear two or three young A-Americans conversing, and am amazed at how little I can make of their converations, given the way they speak, which is mainly talking fast and dropping letters at the end of syllables/words. I guess it comes from a mindset of feeling like they need to be different, to have their own identity, even to have their own language or dialect.
It's a mess, that's for sure! How some of these young people get and hold down jobs, is beyond me. And not just blacks, but a lot of young whites, as well.

Or they go into the pharmacy and read the labels on the medicines for a clue. I once here a comedian do a bit on black names, he talked about the twins “Syphllis and Gonorrhea!

Doncha' just love these anti-Christian, racially confining first names. Before Obama, when I was working, Jerry Springer was usually on the break room TV in the afternoons. There was a girl on the show named Trashawanda. It was an accurate description, she was highly qualified for the Springer show!

its genetics...low intelligent blacks breeding with other low intelligent blacks, and what do you get....same goes with white trash...
but the low intelligent blacks seem to be growing exponentially.....and I describe low intelligence as lack of impulse control,no forward thinking, no boundaries, etc....its not about learning calculus....

“I never told you I cared”
Dear “Mom”:
There’s your probable right there bit&$. Maybe if you told your SON that you cared he would still be alive. Maybe if you SHOWED your son that you cared he wouldn’t have gone off gang-banging. (99% sure that is the case without reading anything about it).
What sort of mother doesn’t tell her son that she cares!!?? Is it too tough to play the parent when he comes home with bad grades? Ignore it - it is too tough. “I don’t care. He’s only 7th grade and the grades don’t matter anyway.”
He leaves for the night at 9 pm and you don’t wonder about him? Oh that’s right - you don’t care.
Maybe if you, his momma, had shown you cared about your boy (yes, 13 should still be considered a “boy” in this day and age), he would still be alive. And more importantly, he would have felt like he mattered, that he was important. Instead he had to try to find love and recognition in a gang.
So screw you “mom”.

Most people I’ve met from Africa (I’ve worked with a lot of Nigerians and black South Africans) despise American blacks.

It must be hard for them to see American blacks have such a greater opportunity (I’m guessing, especially in Nigeria) and to throw it all away.
Sort of like watching someone stupid win the lottery and piss it all away, and I’m left thinking “If I had won I would have paid off the house and be able to send my kids to college.”
To: dfwgator
Could it be that Blacks from Africa know that American Blacks are descendants of the Blacks that their Black African ancestors (in exchange for textiles, brass wire, alcohol & seashells) sold into slavery and therefore could not have thought much of, even back then?

Looking at a demographic map of the area census tract, which is about 80% black, it is very likely that the shooter/attempted robbery victim is also black.
To: deport
I also find it interesting that the location of the incident is over 14 miles from the school he attended. In other words, it likely wasn’t the near neighborhood he lived in. That said, they may have planned way ahead of time on robbing that specific individual.
To: hout8475
It might also be targeting a specific area.
I had a cousin that was going to college at Samford, which is in Birmingham, 20 years ago. Back then there was a gang initiation which included kidnapping a young white girl from the area of Birmingham that Samford was in.

Jaqures Cortez Walker, given this name he was either going to be an [thug]athlete or a felon. A redundancy.
Also a distinction without a difference.
