The IDF has issued emergency call up orders to six reserve battalions in light of new dangers on the Egyptian and Syrian borders. And the Knesset has given the IDF permission to summon a further 16 reserve battalions if necessary, Israeli media reported on Wednesday.

“This signifies that the IDF regards the Egyptian and Syrian borders as the potential source of a greater threat than in the past,” the former deputy chief of staff, Dan Harel, said on Wednesday night.

“The army needs a better ‘answer’ than in the past to the threat,” he said, citing Egypt’s deteriorating control over the Sinai, marked by an upsurge in Bedouin smuggling of weapons and other goods. He also spoke of the growing threat of terrorism from Sinai, as exemplified by an infiltration last August in which eight Israelis were killed.

The Syrian situation was also highly combustible, Harel said, “and it could explode at any moment… and pose a direct challenge to us.”

Maariv said the army had to decide whether to cancel training sessions for enlisted soldiers or to summon additional reserve units, and it chose the latter; canceling training would mean soldiers would not be prepared in the case of an all-out war.

The Brits were saying this in 1941 about bombing Germany:

"The ultimate aim of an attack on a town area is to break the morale of the population which occupies it. To ensure this, we must achieve two things: first, we must make the town physically uninhabitable and, secondly, we must make the people conscious of constant personal danger. The immediate aim, is therefore, twofold, namely, to produce (i) destruction and (ii) fear of death."

Not to worry. Israel will never be defeated. Her borders were set thousands of years ago by a higher authority than any muzzie understands or knows.

Maybe you haven't actually read the Bible. While The Lord probably won't let the Jewish people be destroyed, when The Lord wanted to make a point to the Jewish people, The Lord DID allow Israel to be defeated, on a number of occasions.

And I'd like to mention that the Jewish people helped elect Obama as POTUS with overwhelming numbers, I'm ashamed to say.

As I recall, Curtis Lamay said that had the allies lost the war, he would have been prosecuted for "war crimes" as well.

There was a show on PBS talking about the bombing of Germany, that discussed the decisions made by Harris, LeMay, and others, and one of the analysts/historians said that on the allied side, the only crime greater than the bombing of civilian Germans would have been losing the war to Germany.

Surprisingly insightful comment that summed it up nicely. It's very hard for those opposed to the bombing to argue with that logic.

I am just as unhappy as you about the division of the Korean peninsula caused by Truman firing MacArthur, but I can understand his concern about a full-blown Third World War if we engaged Mao's armies directly. We know much more today about the weakness of the respective positions of Mao, Stalin and Kim than we did in the early 1950s.

But let's for a moment grant that Truman was right. If so, then just what does Obama think could happen that is forcing us to fight a limited war now? Seems to me the best argument for encouraging the Israelis to make a full-scale attack now is to **PREVENT** a much bigger war later.

Very true. Israel will ultimately win the day but she will suffer massive devastation before its all said and done. The people of Israel will eventually turn back to God, it will be a hard road getting them there.

Israel does not have its back protected.The Palestinians (Hamas), Egyptians ( Muslim Brotherhood),Syrians in both Lebanon and Syria,have Israel surrounded. The USA has trained an army ( under the guise of calling them police) on the West Bank, Obama just donated 183 million to Palestine which will be used to buy arms.

Yes Israel may soon attack Iran, she has to. It will be Obama’s leftist shining moment , which could well annouce WW III.

Obama and his whole gang of fascists have to go, soon. The world is well on its way to being completely destabilized
via the middle East.

When the USA pulls out of Afghanistan, the fire works will start, millions will die, and Obama the “Hope and Change” Redeemer’s legacy will be nothing but fire and blood.

Goring asked that “Bomber” Harris and LeMay be tried with him. He said that they committed war crimes against French and German civilians in the bombing campaigns.

In many ways, he was right. The tactic was called “Terror Bombing”, and was a spectacular failure in it's stated goal #2. Moral increased, because the towns really started to hate the Allied air forces.

I have no doubt in my mind Israel could win a war against any country..You see it is written in the Bible..I also believe we are getting really close to the end wars..I just hope God holds off until the Muslims throne is taken away from him..
