How does one justify a vote for Romney?

With the foisted increased possibility of Mittens buying becoming the Nominee, can you actually justify voting for him in the general election?

This is what I am truly curious to find out.

Virgil Goode info" http://www.goodeforpresident2012.com/

Gary Johnson info: http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/about

Personally, at this moment, I simply cannot vote for Romney under any circumstance. I am also convinced that if Romney runs against Obama, Romney will lose massively.

I'd really be interested in your feedback, especially in terms of how you potentially plan to justify voting for Romney if he indeed becomes the Nominee.

Thank you,

NRT

This post kinda makes you wonder if there are infiltrators in our midst...

Really now... have you posed that thought to JimRob, who has said he absolutely refuses to vote for Romney under any circumstance?

Are you mormon? If not, you do realize that Romney believes your religion to be an abomination, right? Would that make him a religious bigot?

Since I am against name calling, I will not call you an asshat for suggesting that you know anything about what an individual that you never met believes about someone elses religion that you also do not know.

Now I'm really pissed that you put me in a position that requires me, as a Christian, to defend Romney. But I still won't call you any names.

Virgil Goode or Gary Johnson? Are you serious? THey will get fewer votes than Perot, but votes for them will have the same effect... they will elect Obama to a second term to finish the job of destroying this country. Before you go on about how if we elect conservatives to congress we can control him, look at how well congress has kept him in check so far... they haven’t. He ignores them. He makes recess appointments when there is no recess. He gives the PA $192M when congress has frozen all funds for the PA.

I hate that Romney will be our nominee. But its either vote for Romney or we get Obama to finish the job. For all those who say Romney and Obama are the same, get your heads out of your butts. They are not. Romney may be too liberal for most of us, but he does not hate America. The job we have now is to defeat Obama. Maybe Romney is just a 100MPH train towards the cliff, but thats still better than the 600MPH bullet train to the cliff that is Obama.

In November I will vote against Obama. My vote will be reluctantly cast for Romney.

Actually I have an interesting, and related question for readers of this thread:

1) Did you vote for Perot in 1992? (I'm sure a lot of current FReepers did)

2) If so, do you regret doing so?

Well, I think there’s one thing nearly all of us can agree on... the GOP has done a masterful job of ****ing up what was once a promising opportunity to unseat Obama. Instead, it’s set conservative vs. conservative, GOPer vs. GOPer, etc.

Remember those early GOP debates last year in which ideas and positivity ruled the day? Then came Romney, who proceeded to poison the waters and nothing was ever the same again.

This all could’ve gone SO damned much better had that evil bastard Romney stayed on the sidelines.

Thanks, Mitt. Well, you got your nefarious wish, didn’t you???

“We will stand up in this election to bring about the change that won’t just win an election, but will transform America,” he said wrapping up the speech of nearly 30 minutes.

Voting for Mitt stops Obama’s transformation of America.

And, I trust Sarah Palin and Dick Cheny’s experience , judgment and morales.

Both support Mitt and are not GOPe or RINO’s.

Nixon was the RINO of his day and Reagan had to think twice before endorsing him.

In 72, conservatives were even MORE upset with Nixon and the ACU pulled their support. Reagan, smartly, did not make enemies in the GOP and eventually supported Nixon again.

I want to punish Obama more than I want to punish the GOP.

What did the conservative wing of the GOP offer? Nothing. A bunch of clowns. Possibly they could have found someone solidly conservative but the conservatives flew around backing losers and nitwits. If you want to blame the GOP then you're also blaming the conservatives within the GOP. Or maybe it's no one's fault that in 2012 there's just no solid conservative of any stature who wants to be president.

Not even a question for me. Either you are actively voting in a way that gets Barack Obama out of office, or you aren’t. All the rationales, reasonings, justifications, holier-than-thou explanations are fine, but if they don’t result in getting Barack Hussein Obama out of office, YOU’VE KEPT HIM IN. Live with yourself.

I will walk into the booth and vote for all candidates who:

Don’t favor killing babies, or paying for others to kill babies
Don’t favor the erosion of marriage, or support gay marriage
Don’t favor government power through mandates

Are conservatives who:

Favor smaller and limited government
Favor lower taxes
Favor the preservation of liberty
Favor sound money
Favor lower debt

Starting with the top of the ticket, I vote for candidates who meet these criteria.

If I see a choice between two candidates who are abortion loving, gay marriage loving,
government loving liberals, I will move to the next race.

I’m in no hurry and there is no reason to rush to a decision and one that I don’t need to justify to anyone. I don’t know much about Virgil Goode except he is conservative and will not win. Gary Johnson is a liberal and possibly a libertine as well and I’ve seen photos of him campaigning at the legalize marijauna rallies and not at Tea Party events or anywhere else so I have an idea of what’s important to him and he won’t win. I don’t think Romney can beat obama and I’m not really sure he would be much better if he did. Liberal vs. socialist appointees won’t make any difference in the courts and I don’t see any commitment from him to actually reduce the size of government or reduce spending. I’ll do what has to be done when the time comes to do it but I’m damn sure it’s going to be nothing I’ll be proud of.

The smart people understand that there are only two choices and will vote the only option to Obama. Romney was my least favorite candidate but he is the only option now. I am smart enough to accept that fact.
