Mass. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren explains past listing of Native American heritage
Washington Post ^ | May 2, 2012

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said Wednesday she listed herself as having Native American heritage in law school directories because she hoped to meet people with similar roots.

“I listed myself in the directory in the hopes that might mean that I would be invited to a luncheon, a group, something that might happen with people who are like I am,” Warren said during a campaign appearance in Braintree, according to the Boston Herald.

The listing did not produce any such contacts, and she later stopped using it, Warren said.

She wanted to meet other white people?

That poor dear ~ like they're running out of them or something.

Horse manure. Listing yourself as Native American is a sure-fire way to get affirmative action treatment.

Higher grades, more scholarship money, and all the rest of it.

When my one of my daughters considered going to Darmouth, she was a National Merit Scholar. While she was there, she met three Indian girls from Oklahoma, who had been flown up free and offered full scholarships.

Although my daughter was a National Merit Scholar, she was not offered ANY scholarship money. So, she went elsewhere, and was very successful.

Dartmouth has a history of offering education to Indians from the area. But evidently they had run short of them, so they flew some in from the Southwest.

I guess that sounds better than listing herself as native American so she could get game the system for free money.

It must be kinda cool being a liberal. Just make stuff up as you go along and never get challenged. A whole life of that.

Nah, nah, she wanted to meet other people who are 1/32 Cherokee.

Like 98% of the population of Tennessee.

"Yeah, that's the ticket..."

she hoped to meet people with similar roots

So she hoped to meet other white skinned blue eyed folk who could claim 1/32 native American heritage.

You would think that at some point a rag like the Washington Post is tossed such a ridiculous softball that even their editor will let one of their news people hit it out of the park.

NMSQ ~ they also provide listings for some pretty restrictive scholarships and once you get through them you are probably not qualified.

The Osage Indians (we have some regular Freepers who are enrolled members of the tribe) are just about as rich as Croesus ~ and they give scholarships to tribal chillun'.

They're in Oklahoma I believe.

They may well have prior arrangements with Dartmouth.

Discussing this with my dad the other day an Indian couple we knew well who belonged to a tribe in Kansas went to a tribal boarding school for their educations since the tribal lands were simply too spread out to provide a central school. They then attended a university on a tribal scholarship ~ he was a CPA.

Just because you run into an Indian with a scholarship doesn't mean he got preferential treatment ~ he may well have been the only one to get any treatment ~ and from his own tribe.

Ms. Warren appears to have no trouble with the Goebbelsian große Lüge , AND... She thinks that the voters in Massachusetts are all hopelessly and helplessly stupid.

Some lies are benign ("that's a pretty outfit").

Some lies are coldly calculated and malignant ("I won't have any lobbyists in my administration").

This one is not only calculated and malignant, it's insulting to all who might hear or read it.

The Barnhart Boys (who lived across the street and to the left) were some really rough tough bankrobbers, and they were raised on a reservation by their mother.

These guys always had outstanding warrants on them, but the cops would just drive by rather than tangle with them.

That's what I consider preferential treatment

The guy directly across the street from them was an Indianapolis cop ~ he's the one with the two fancy dogs he'd stake out so we had to walk through the crick on our way to the bus stop in the morning. One day he let his dogs kill and eat his baby.

Now a cop that tough wouldn't even tangle with the Barnharts.

Warren obviously does not know the difference between right and wrong. She lies habitually. There are a couple of other signs that she’s a sociopath.

A lot of people in government and academia game the affirmative action quotas. A typical white guy launching a career in “public service” should really visit the Mormon geneology library to see if they have a drop of Indian blood or if their roots can be traced back to Ferdinand and Isabella so they can claim hispanic heritage.

I don’t think that its necessarily anything to be ashamed of, particularly considering the alternatives would be cronyism and nepotism.

But Ms. Warren says she is a true believer in the justice of racial quotas, the correct answer for her would be to admit what she did and justify her special treatment or even to propose changes in affirmative action so it can meet its supposed goals.

The fact that she didn’t have the guts to admit it, means she doesn’t really believe in affirmative action at all.

You can track back to Ferdinand and Isabella but even they’d had a hard time qualifying for Hispanic status ~ and when it comes to their descendant (grandson I believe), PhilippeI I of Spain, he was KING OF ENGLAND!

Actually it was Phillip’s wife, “Bloody” Mary Tudor, was the granddaughter of Ferdinand and Isabella, not Phillip.

But I don’t think the fact they served as English monarchs disqualifies either of them, or their descendents, for hispanic status, according to the generally accepted rules for affirmative action.

Brown should invite the Malone brothers to one of his campaign events. (If they're still alive.)

No, they didn't ever live here so they could never fall within the pale of American law.

BTW, current EEOC rules would probably allow Queen Mary to claim rights to any special civil rights protections her husband, King Philippe had ~ that's a little known provision in the categories ~ Justice Thomas wrote that one!

I don't think Philippe needed any special protections though!

I went back over the federal standards and King and/or Queen of England aren't in the qualifications.

Not even the Nazis (who didn’t counted you Jewish if you were less than 1/4 Jewish) would count a 1/32 Indian as an Indian. The Democrats in the South said you were Black if you had 1/8 Black blood but 1/16 would make you White.

Democrats are sick racists.
