Zimmerman's Attorney: Trayvon's Social Media Posts Fair Game
hispanicbusiness.com ^ | May 2, 2012 | Frances Robles

George Zimmerman's defense attorney says he will not comment on a Myspace page that portrays his client in a "less-than-favorable" light, because the racially charged social media postings could come up at his murder trial.

But he hinted that if Zimmerman's postings will be scrutinized in court, Trayvon Martin's would be too.

The Miami Herald reported that Zimmerman had a Myspace social media account where he wrote insulting remarks about Mexicans. He referred to an ex-girlfriend as a "hoe," talked about beating a felony rap and complained that every Mexican he ran into pulled a knife on him. One line suggested that friends went to jail rather than snitch on him.

"Workin 96 hours to get a decent pay check, gettin knifes pulled on you by every mexican you run into!" Zimmerman wrote.

Defense attorney Mark O'Mara said Zimmerman's account had been hacked and abandoned -- but acknowledged that the posts cited by The Herald were written by his client.

Huh?

Zimmerman is part Mexican...how can they rag on him for dissing his own folk?

There is a long tradition of liberals excusing Blacks for dissing their own.

This is not even remotely controversial. One of the hottest fields for training in the law today is the area of social media an electronic discovery. Criminal and civil lawyers routinely discover Facebook, MySpace, and other posts and publication by parties in a case. If the media treats this as controversial or aggressive on the part of the defense counsel, it just tells you they do not know of which they speak or write.

The fact is that Zimmerman's posting on Facebook have nothing whatsoever to do with the case against him as Trayvon could never had read them and those posting to not reflect the state of mind Zimmerman was in at the time of the shooting.

However, Trayvon in his postings clearly stated that he was a thug and out to commit crimes and that is exactly that Trayvon that Capt. Zimmerman identified as being up to no good and casing houses for burglary.

Based on what I've read, Zimmerman is part Peruvian, not Mexican.

“I believe Z’s comments were made in 2005.”

It does not matter when Zimmerman wrote such comments on Facebook as he did so on his private Facebook page.

The past of both individuals are absolutely fair game, are essential to determine,in fact. The actual events,IMO,cannot be determined to a convincing degree so,for me,their pasts will suggest which one was more likely to blame for what happened.

I'm of Irish blood and yet fully understand and acknowledge that a noticeable percentage of my fellow Irishmen are absolutely worthless filthbags. Not *all* of them, not *most* of them, but *more than a few* of them.

I think it is just supposed to bolster the media image of Zimmerman as a bad person.

Are Hispanics allowed to think negative thoughts about other Hispanics?

The Inca civilization was in Peru. The Aztecs were in Mexico. Between the two, I think I would have rather lived in Peru--less chance of being killed as part of a religious ceremony.

I’m 1/16th Irish (twice as Irish as Elizabeth Warren is Cherokee) and I can think of a number of Irish-Americans I have little regard for: Teddy Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Jim Moran, Chris Matthews, Barack O’Bama...

Which is why any rational person will stay the heck away from them, other than family chit-chat.

“Are Hispanics allowed to think negative thoughts about other Hispanics?”

Ask a Cuban what they think of Central Americans, and especially Mexicans.

We need two dozen more doofus posts on this thread saying:

1) That Zimmerman is Mecixan (the first dozen),

2) That his mother is Peroovian (the second dozen.)

Not only are you incorrect about the ability of the actual events to be determined by the known facts, your "solution" to this "problem" drowns all due process in sheer irrationality.

Thank God you're not on the jury.

You might want to ask Billy Jeff about that.

Quoth Billy in 1996, If I were a single man, I might ask that mummy out. That's a good-looking mummy!

According to the Associated Press, Peruvian scientists at the time called his remark "tasteless."

In which case, the only possible verdict is Not Guilty.

so,for me,their pasts will suggest which one was more likely to blame for what happened.

That goes only to the question of, whether you, as a juror, will be enthusiastic or regretful as you render your Not Guilty.

This is the first I've heard of “white supremacists” hacking into Trayvon’s email, and that the thug photos of him were “proven fakes”. After all the fake reports from the msm, I don't think we can believe anything.

First time I've heard about it, too.

The two major players I know about in finding and analyzing Trayvon’s social media presence:

(1) DailyCaller.com

(2) Wagist.com

The “fake” thug photo of Trayvon was an honest error.

It was pulled from an account registered to “Trayvon Martin.”

And, the guy in the photo had a passing resemblance to Martin.

And at least one major blogger - Michelle Malkin - published the picture.

Within 24 hours she publicly acknowledged the error, apologized, and pulled the photo.

First thing I noticed.....

No date reported on when Zimmerman wrote this.

It was written in 2005.

Seven years ago.

Zimmerman was 21 years old.

Here's the original link for the Herald article:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/05/01/v-fullstory/2778234/myspace-page-is-latest-salvo-in.html

They have a link to the MySpace page, but I can't find the Mexican quotes anywhere.

Maybe I don't know how MySpace works?

He's Peruvian. The Incas ran an empire of 700,000 square miles with a 25,000 mile road system.

The Asteks built the ugliest SUV ever, and no roads for it to run on.

You might have noticed the there have been about 17 posts alerting me to his Peruvian heritage rather than Mexican.

Would all of you missed my point if I’d written “Hispanic”?

Have you noticed that it doesn’t matter where a Black person comes from, they make no distinction when referencing “African-American”?
