Gingrich: Romney’s ‘Conservative Enough’ Compared To ‘Most Radical, Leftist Pres in American Hist'

While formally suspending his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Wednesday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that he believes presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney is conservative enough when compared to “the most radical, leftist president in American history.”

“And my answer is simple: compared to Barack Obama?

You know this is not a choice between Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan. This is a choice between Mitt Romney and the most radical, leftist president in American history.”

I’m with you and join you in that prayer, my FRiend, for our kids and grandkids sake.

I was Sarah, Cain, Santorum, and then Newt.

The Lord God can work miracles, from healing, to changing hearts, to, as Patrick Henry said, presiding over the destiny of nation. I pray once more, that He will extend His arm to us here, and help us turn this around. There are millions who desire the turn back to fundamental moral and republican principle with all of their hearts.

Sarah was my choice but that didn’t happen.
I only know Obama is a disaster to our nation,

Myself, I’m old, but my niece just got married

I agree completely with your post... None of us are happy with Romney getting the nomination and I’m more angry and resentful now toward the Republican party than I’ve ever been at any other time in my life. So we have to make a choice with the horrible hand we’ve once again been dealt and here are the underlying facts... Despite all his flaws, the nation CAN survive four more years with Romney as president providing we force our elected officials in Congress to hold his feet to the fire and keep pushing him to the right. Meanwhile, the nation CANNOT survive another four years of Obama recklessly ramming more of his radical Keynesian and Marxist policies down our throats and no longer having to worry about re-election. It’s that simple. I believe every one of us who stays home or votes third party in November is only going to ensure Obama gets re-elected and THAT to me is unacceptable!

"THERE WILL BE NO OTHER DAY."

That's the real bottom line. Romney is a terrible candidate, a beyond holding your nose candidate, but he is not as bad as an avowed enemy of America in the White House. A vote for Romney and you will live to fight another day (if he wins), take back the GOP, form a third party, whatever. A vote for Obama or third party in 2012 will be the last vote that is anything other than symbolic (if Obama wins). A second Obama term will end anything meaningful for conservatives and the end of real elections. Look to Venezuela, East Germany, or Russia for the future models.

Romney is to the right of Obama, sure, but he is probably to the left of BJClinton.

I wasn’t a Gingrich guy, but I have to say I agree with the way he said what he said, even if I as an ABL don’t agree with all his words.

This fits the textbook definition of a lefthanded compliment. Still, there’s no way on earth I’m voting for an abortionist.

The way I'm describing it... if Bork Obunga gets re-elected, there will not be any pieces lying around for anybody to try to pick up or put back together, four years down the road. Everything we've ever known will be OVER, game, set, and match.

Have answered that question several times.

We’re going to turn out like never before to elect conservatives into as many offices in the land as we possibly can, including building on the house majority and retaking the senate. Obama is without a doubt the worst president in American history. He’s already getting desperate thanks to we the tea party electing a Republican house. IF he’s re-elected he’ll really be isolated with a Republican senate, too, and with the Republicans holding the majority of the governors and state legislatures. He’s committing impeachable offenses at every turn already. After he’s completely isolated he will go berserk and REALLY try to take desperate steps. But we’re going to come down on him like a ton of bricks. The Republican led states will re-assert their tenth amendment powers and cut him off at the knees. This is already taking shape. He will not get anything through the congress. He’ll be tied up in congressional investigations and in court. The tea party will explode in numbers and will protest like never before and will hound him day and night wherever he goes. His own party will turn on him due to his being a total failure and his attempts to bypass the congress and the people (we the American people still love our constitution and our freedom, even some of the democrats). They will not be able to justify his radical unconstitutional criminal behavior. The media will smell blood in the water and go into a feeding frenzy. He will either be hounded out of office like Nixon or be the first American president in history to be impeached and removed!!

His co-conspirator, Joe Biden, too. Thank God we’ll have a strong conservative Republican (hint, hint—goodbye Boehner) as Speaker of the House!

If Romney wins, we’ll be fighting him tooth and nail every step of the way. Unfortunately, the RINOs in congress will support him and stab us in the back every chance they get. Romney’s first big government socialist item to try to get through is compulsory health insurance (RomneyCare) in all 50 states. Has already started a national healthcare task force to get it done. They claim it’s a “conservative solution,” is constitutional at the state level and boast that they already have 26 states lined up and ready to push it through (see keyword Bondi, Pam Bondi). He will do nothing for pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-liberty causes except give us lip service. His appointments will be moderates (liberals actually). We’ll have to fight him tooth and nail and here again, and the RINOs will cave. He’ll push stimulus spending and bailouts. He’ll push global warming. He’ll push shamnesty. And the RINOs will cave. He’ll trim around the edges some on spending and income taxes, but will try to increase “revenues” in other ways. He is not a deep cutter. He’s not a cutter at all. Has no intention of being anything but a moderate (liberal). And the RINOs will go along. If and when it comes time for re-election, they’ll push as never before to drop the nuisance social planks from the party platform to attract the independents and moderates and build their big tent. He’s deeply concerned for “women’s rights,” “minority rights,” “gay rights,” “immigrant rights,” “saving the planet,” saving us from “dangerous guns,” saving us peons from medical bankruptcy, saving too big to fail corporations, propping up the stock market and the financial institutions, saving us from inflation/deflation/depression, making government efficient and keeping the trains running on time. In other words, using/abusing federal powers to save us from ourselves. He thinks he’s a financial whiz, an executive genius and has the brainpower and know how to do it all. The only things he won’t think about trying to save is our inalienable rights or our constitution. All the other crap he’s going to try to solve is constitutionally reserved to the states and the people. That, will never occur to him.

The country would sink under an Obama Supreme Court (not to mention his love of Executive Orders, Czars and allowing federal agencies to act outside of Congressional approval)...

We keep the House, take the Senate and White House and raise hell each and every time our public servants turn around in order to keep them honest (well, you know....).

Work locally and support conservatives in your area and states.

Never give up.

Nope.

Newt’s saying what he has to because he’s a Party guy.

I am no longer a Republican, therefore I don’t feel beholden to vote for a cowpie just because he has “R” after his name.

If Obama wins, he'll be bringing the House and Senate with him. There won't be enough "ABR/pubbie down ticket" voters to produce any other result.

You really envision a scenario where Obama wins the election and Republicans make gains everywhere else?

No, I seriously doubt Obama will win at all. Not that Romney’s a prize, but that Obama’s Marxist policies are universally despised by all liberty loving Americans. And I absolutely believe that the tea party rebellion will continue in November and beyond. We the people are pissed like never before!! Won’t take much more to make them literally explode.

Anybody stupid enough to vote for Obama is going to vote a straight Democratic ticket—no way on earth will they split and vote “because we need Republicans in the House and Senate to balance the ticket”. All these people want is more something for nothing and they know ‘pubs won’t give it to them. Make no mistake, if Obama wins again he takes all his people back with him and then all bets are off. Say goodbye to the United States as it has been known since its birth.

No doubt in my mind, Obama’s rigid goal is to Venezuela-ize this free land and to Hugo-ize his presidency.

People say Mitt’s court picks in MA were bad and would be for SCOTUS...folks, I don’t advocate for him here and believe we should not do so...I do advocate against a new Obama term. What we must do to any president is work like never before to demand good court picks and oppose bad ones.

For Obama: the unconstitutional decisions, his despotic executive orders, the czars, the alliance with the MSM and Hollywood, misuse and abuse of the military, appeasement of our enemies and opposition to our friends, etc is what we need to fight with all our might, preferably by denying him this precious office over this priceless country.

And if Mitt were to win, we still must stay adamantly focused on getting power and funds returned to the states where they belong and away from the federal leviathan that is killing everything we hold dear.

Federal, state, local level, try unceasingly to get staunch conservatives in office.

And I don’t mean Don Quixote tilting at windmills of endless hopeless causes.

This is still at heart a more conservative nation than a liberal one.

Flying off in all directions wildly aiming fire at whatever moves does not fit the situation, dire as it is.

Calm, smart, deliberate, principled, focused, determined, organized to win, will get results.
