Unmasked: Meet The FBI's Bridge Bomb Plot Snitch
The Smoking Gun ^ | May 2, 2012

The paid informant who helped orchestrate the FBI sting that resulted in the arrest of five anarchists for allegedly plotting to blow up an Ohio bridge is a convicted felon who was arrested on bad check and theft charges in the midst of his cooperation with federal investigators, The Smoking Gun has learned.

Shaquille Azir, 39, was named in a pair of felony indictments filed in January in Cuyahoga County, according to court records. Azir, who TSG has identified as the informant in the federal bombing case, is accused in the indictments of passing bad checks on July 25, 2011 and December 22, 2011.

Azir, pictured in the mug shot at right, “has been working as a source for the FBI since July 20, 2011,” according to the U.S. District Court complaint filed yesterday against the alleged bomb plotters. Wearing a body recorder, Azir captured the five self-styled anarchists plotting to use C-4 explosive to take down a Cleveland-area bridge.

If Obama had a son, that’s what he’d look like.

Most likely, most OWS types a scum or just confused not killers. The people like Zero’s buddies Dohrn and Ayers seem to get missed by the feds and the dumb one get coerced by the feds.

The truely bad do not seem to get caught. They attack police and slip away.

Not true, two of the Hutaree are still up on weapon charges.

Nope. At most, David Stone plead guilty to a lesser weapons charge and was the last to be released. He's free and clear. And now it looks like the weapons charge will be erased because the feds don't want to fight the lawsuit.

FBI returns military gear, wedding ring to acquitted Hutaree militia leader David Stone

I live here so I get a lot of extra info through post office chatter.

Shaquille Azir sounds Muslim to me. Nothing in the record says he is, but, think about it. You’re looking for explosives, you’re a wannabe anarchist, and a muslim sounding guy says he has access to C4.

The scary thing is that a real terrorist doesn’t need to pull his own event in the US. He just needs to frequent Occupy events, find the disgruntled and stupid, and supply them with materiel.

I had not heard that, it is good news. This just shows how far the feds go to make us all criminals. They continually ignore the Constitution to get us, it is truly frightening.

Well he did change his name to Shaquille Azir, so.

Yeah and our government might only go after the dummies and not the mastermind.

Why did they make his identity public? Seems really odd.
"They" didn't make his identity public.
The public "made his identity" known from readily available information.

If this "FBI sting" went down like it's written here, any half sober lawyer can get them off. As it sure looks like a case of entrapment to me.

To be found guilty, you have to have the Means and Method to be able to carry out the crime you're accused of doing/plotting. And these anarchists didn't have either until this FBI Informant came along and gave them the money (FBI Money) to buy the explosives - aka: The Means - and then find a supplier (the FBI) of the C4 for them - aka: The Methods.

Ergo, until this guy came along (acting for the FBI), this little group were just a bunch of blow-hards spouting off the typical anarchist bull___.

Caveat: I'm not an attorney but I have played one in court.

Having the informant do a lot of the planning is close to entrapment. If these people are so bad why does this seem like the Hutaree case?

You can always tell who the FBI agent/informant is, in any "radical" group, because they'll be the ones urging everyone to blow things up.

Not true, two of the Hutaree are still up on weapon charges. They also said that they wanted to do things, kill cops etc. With everything that was reported on the Hutaree originally it did not look good for them, but when it got to court then it was a different story. It could end up being the same here.

Most likely what was missing from the "reporting" was a little context of the discussions. If a discussion were to turn to what I would do if I saw cops coming door-to-door searching for weapons, you might very well find me discussing blowing their fool heads off as well.

See that is where some people are different, I would never say anything like that. Actions are more important.

The government is out of control, all branches.

That bridge is about 4 miles from The Pachysandra Palace. Cross it several times a week.
