Looks like the preferred method of destruction is a tyre (or tire) filled with petrol (or gas) what a stupid design, it seems they where made to hold the tyre (tire) perfectly while it burned and cooked the machine.
Some of the empty housings still stand in Minneapolis a a reminder... Many have had things done to them ;)
These things must make a lot of money if they can afford to replace them after complete destruction over and over again.
The whole scam is run by the company that owns the cameras and collects the fines. They just sign a contract with the city to give it an air of legitimacy in exchange for a cut of the profit.
I would make your daughter pay the fine to teach her a lesson in careful driving. Then, I hope that we can all dedicate ourselves to electing a new Legislature that will outlaw this scam.
Mississippi got rid of all their “trafficScamras”. Ambulances were getting tickets and the drivers were being made to pay.

In the picture those feedhorns in the back of the unit are active as well. It gets 5 out of 5 stars from me. If a cop turns on his system for a split second within a half-mile it talks to you and provides exactly what was detected.
The closer you get the system ramps up the warning as long as it is present. If the warning fades so does the warning. Very well designed little receiver.
It also picks up detector lidar and radar for those of you in the fascist states.
In Tennessee it won't hit your record period on a light camera. It is a civil fine and not a moving violation. If a cop gets you though it does go on your record. In Tennessee the officer has to witness the offense to cite you and it go on your record. To get around it they made it a civil fine. You don't pay you get turned over to a collection agency. Also by state law they can no longer cite from a camera photo for right turns. An officer witnessing such can though.
As you may know I live in our green paradise but more and more I was getting busted for rolling stops in the rural areas. I bought this XRS 9965 and that crap has come to a screeching halt. I know if they are in my neighborhood patrolling before I pass my mailbox. The revenuers can kiss my ass.
I avoid shopping in certain areas of Knoxville and Oak Ridge on count of them. I do so especially if my wife is with me and we are in the van. I am not tossing her forward over trying to hard stop on a camera light yellow.
Last time I got stopped was going {slowly} through a Stop Sign at Wally World in Clinton at about 2:00am. They gave me a verbal warning.
They bring in the perps in holding, among them a young, very pregnant woman and various assorted people included some obvious scoundrels.
Up first, young pregnant girl... Judge gives her 45 days in county jail for non payment of speeding ticket... she protests her baby is due in five days...no problem says judge..."you need to pay your dues to society for breaking the law". Second up... Six foot, swarthy, bearded guy, strong man, built arms.... Judge: "Oh sir, I see you have served time in San Quentin - we don't want to run you through the system" They let him go OR.
That was about 1980. The system was screwed then and is worse now.
I still wonder about that child that was born in jail because of this judge.
I wonder if you could start a campaign to change those signs to “Slow” signs instead of stop signs.
Daytime I stop for it. Nighttime at 2:00am when no one else is even driving through the parking lot? I ran it. Really they put the sign on the wrong side of the parking lot. You have too just about break your neck looking back too the left to check for traffic at that stop sign. All traffic at that stop is going right. Very little traffic comes down from the left side which does not have the stop.
But to be honest I've only contested one ticket in my life which was for following too close. I hit a car in front of me. Well yea because my brakes failed LOL. I took the reciept in for the Master Cylinder and the judge dismissed it.
BTW 441? Is that as in U.S. 441? I live about 10 miles from where it starts.
I was “rolling” a stop at 4am in my Honda with not a critter to be found except for blue revenue hogs. 150 bucks and 3 points. I put a stop to these assholes with my Cobra.

Yea looks like a Tornado warning north of Cookeville now. It shoud be here in about an hour and half or too two hours. If the storm keeps moving west or moves to the southeast it’s gonna hit here. Looks like a lot on up in Kentucky. I got caught in one Thursday night about 11:00pm moving through here that I though was gonna blow us off the road.
I just checked local Short Term Forecast. Looks like the Cumberland Plateau is gonna break the brunt of it up. I hope LOL. Bad part is I go to bed about now.
The Plateau just serves to amp the updrafts. Just strong storms and nothing to worry about. Have a good morning.
