The key person funding John Edwards' cover up of his affair was a 101-year-old philanthropist who had swooned over the Democratic presidential contender in 2007.

Rachel "Bunny" Mellon was so taken with Edwards after meeting him at her Virginia estate in 2005 that she lent her personal plane to take him home to North Carolina, her confidante Bryan Huffman told the jury at Edwards' trial.

I have to give John Kerry props. He found the one man in America who could make him appear decent.

Sounds like the Producers. Maybe we should call him John “Bialystock” Edwards.

Yes indeed. Ann Coulter was persecuted as she fought a public battle to truly portray how rotten Edwards was, way before the Enquire exposed him. This Edwards story in particular defined him in all of his sanctimonius ... and chilling ... phoniness ....

"(Kerry) was even queasier about Edwards after they met. Edwards had told Kerry he was going to share a story with him that he'd never told anyone else -- that after his son Wade had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home, laid there and hugged his body, and promised that he'd do all he could to make life better for people, to live up to Wade's ideals of service. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the same exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two before -- and with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. Kerry said he found it chilling, and he decided he couldn't pick Edwards unless he met with him again."

Has the word “democrat” become politically incorrect these days, or what? Why aren't they referring to him as a democrat? If this were a Republican....OMG! Everything would start with “Republican VP candidate, Senator _________ of the red state of Virginia, .........”

Makes me kinda sad that he did not get elected. Can you imagine the absolute roof cave-in that would be happening to the Democrat Party right now if this sort of stuff was coming out about their sitting POTUS? They would not recover for two or three decades.

This scum is unbelieveable.

To think that he asked her for $50,000,000 and wanted her to put up her HOME??!!

Who else believes that if she had gone along with it, he would have called in the chips and put her out on the street?

For the poor people, of course. ‘Cause Johnny, who fancies a basketball court, private planes and getting millions of dollars from an old lady to finance his out of wedlock child conceived while his wife was dying and paying THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for a guru to spiritually cleansed his mistress’s Reuben sandwich is all about us po’ folk. (’Course, he couldn’t be bothered to put up his own money.)

Johnny, I believe you will help change the English language. From now on, ‘pokey’ will not just refer to jail but to your cellmates’ pasttimes with you in the very near future- who all have, hopefully, had to deal with schysters like you who have tried to rip off their grandmothers.

I had a friend who attended a college in North Carolina in the last 1990s. She told me to be aware of Edwards as a future Prez candidate. When I asked why, she told me all her female friends swooned over him “because of his hair” and “he is the modern day JFK.” I told her that it was just college-age females saying those things but she reassured me that it was adult women spouting this nonsense, too.

Had Edwards won the Presidency, the Democrats would rally around him, and employ the Bill Clinton defense: "It's private behavior"....."It's only about sex"....."this has nothing to do with his ability to do his job"...."this is just a distraction, the American people want us to focus on more important issues", etc.

You wouldn't expect a democrat to actually spend their own money on anything, would you? Why would they start now?
We're talking left wing elitism here. To them, that "old rich hag" was expendable.

Here's a picture of a young John Edwards and beautiful wife Elizabeth. Too bad she got old and sick on him.

Word to the wise: Ann Coulter is now a non-person as far as FR is concerned. I hope you don’t get zotted for giving her a favorable mention.

Haha. I'm not worried. Syncro has my back (and he'd go first).
