George Clooney Fundraiser Could Be A $12 Million Blockbuster For Obama

President Obama’s widely publicized fundraiser with actor George Clooney is shaping up to be a Hollywood blockbuster.
A May 10 dinner at Clooney’s Studio City, Calif., home has sold out at 150 guests, who are expected to jointly contribute between $5 million and $6 million toward Obama’s reelection effort, people familiar with the event said. They asked not to be named because they are not authorized to speak publicly.
In addition, the Hollywood Reporter cites sources saying that the campaign expects to have raised as much as $6 million more in online donations, which were solicited as part of a nationwide contest to win a ticket to the dinner.
A haul of $12 million would arguably make the soiree the biggest single presidential fundraising event in U.S. history. Campaign sources are throwing cold water on the estimated total from Internet contributions, however, as being too high.
The Obama campaign declined to comment. Demand for tickets to the Clooney event was so intense that organizers attempted to limit attendance to residents of Southern California, the Hollywood paper reported.
The frenzy of interest echoes Obama’s record-breaking fundraising effort in 2008, when massive rallies and donor events became routine. Obama is particularly focused on donors in the entertainment and technology sectors this time around because of his troubles raising money on Wall Street.

It annoys me even more that some self-described hardcore conservatives who are vehemently anti-Obama were paying money to see cLooney's recent movies like "Men Who Stare at Goats", "Up in the Air", and "The Ides of March", giving them rave reviews; claiming cLooney's movies have a "good message," and that they can "separate his politics from his acting career".
I remember one conservative columnist in Illinois was actually claiming "Ides of March" had a "pro-life message" and calling it a "must see movie".

It's not just the American people; the problem is much worse than just Americans that support Clooney and his ilk.
My last vacation to Italy was in October, 2010. We decided to go to Northern Italy. As soon as we got into the terminal in Milan there were several huge billboard ads of Clooney and his then-gf, Elisabetta Canalis, all over the place. Plastered. Then when we got to the Lake Como area(where Clooney has 1 or more estates), several businesses have smaller billboards or photos of Clooney outside their stores - it's “the seal of approval” if Clooney is/was a customer of your shop (1 shop, a tie store, had pics of GWB and Clinton as he made ties both of them). Clooney is worshiped.
Throw in all the foreign ads he does (Europe and Japan) and he's raking in gobs of non-American cash that he can use to destroy the USA.

Yesterday the Clooney fundraiser haul was reportedly $15 million. Now it’s down to $12 million, still described in terms of drooling awe. The whole charade is agit-prop.
