Private pilots who may want to fly near Chicago on the weekend of May 19-20 have been warned they could be shot down, and a Red Cross memo suggests there could be mass evacuations of the city in the event of riots by left-leaning activists protesting the NATO summit.
Less than a days drive away, however, near Jefferson City, Mo., at the same time there will be an event for Americans who also are worried about the nation. But instead of protests and riots, participants will focus on how to build up America, repair it and stabilize it for future generations.
The Rally for Common Sense will be held Saturday, May 19, at the Patriot Field of Dreams at Holts Summit. It will be more of a Woodstock as its on private property in the rolling hills of Missouri, where there will be camping, a nondenominational church service and vendors along with the rally.
A key organizer, Kim Paris, who was the Missouri grass roots director for Herman Cains presidential campaign, told WND that people who have been described as tea party folks need to make their presence, and their choices, be known.
We need to be visible on this in a grassroots way, and what that does is it wakes up other people, she said.
The event website highlights the freedoms that Americans traditionally have enjoyed: We may not have agreed on who the Republican president candidate should be. We may not share precisely the same social views. We DO agree on the constitutional principles of smaller government, a balanced budget, lower taxes and less federal interference in our lives.
We the people are comin and want our power back! Its Common Sense.

The sleeping giant awakens.
The Tea Party movement is the polar opposite of the birther idiots at WND.
Maybe. If it doesn’t turn into a pro Romney rally.
Now is the time for the reawakening to take her back to her founding principals .... It's now or never ..... do it now or her spirit will die....... forever
You’re stuck with mittens. I climbed the fence and left the Grand Old Plantation.
Is Sherrif Joe an idiot, too? How about the Tea Party in his territory who asked him to investigate Obama’s background? Are they all idiots? Is everyone an idiot but you and GOPE who don’t want to deal with constitutional restraints?
Poor you. Stuck with Mittens. :)
Tea Party failed when “Tea Party” in San Francisco supports a rally supporting Mitt Romney, when many “Tea Party” politicans sold out (after mere months!), and when many so called “Tea Party” leaders in swing-states voted for and supported Mitt Romney in the Republican Primary!
I’ll believe it when I see it. Outside of the neverending emails I get from Darla Darwald there hasn’t been much grassroots action. The movement hasn’t made a public impact since Roger Ailes told Hannity, Cavuto, and Beck to stop pushing the events on camera and to lay off showing up at them. Too bad since for a while it was a genuine game changing movement. Maybe it will be again.
There are a whole lot of 'birthers' in the Tea Party, my friend.
I wish I could be there in more than just spirit.
Tea Party alive and well in Texas!! Invictus Maneo!!!
Many Tea Party pols were effectively bought when Romney organizations contributed to their campaigns.
There is still one other candidate in the primary race, and his followers are getting a lot of delegates sent to the convention, so maybe things won’t be so easy for Romney as he thinks they will be.
Newt “Tiffany” Gingrich says the Tea Party is over -
