"In a second term," Mitt Romney darkly warned in a speech to the National Rifle Association last month, President Obama "would be unrestrained by the demands of reelection."
...His only specific prediction was that Obama would "remake" the Supreme Court.
....
At the end of 2012, we'll face what Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke calls "the fiscal cliff": The Bush tax cuts are set to expire, the $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts initiated when the deficit "supercommittee" failed to reach a deal are set to begin, we're expected to hit the debt ceiling again, and many other programs and tax credits will come up for renewal.
Around the Hill, they refer to this as "taxmageddon."
...
Beyond the deficit, Obama's advisers see two big unfinished pieces of business from the first term: climate change and immigration reform.

The end of America.
Well, heck, I’ll repost my response from a couple of nights ago when all these “I’m-not-voting-for-Romney-even-if-it-means-Obama-wins” creatures were stomping about in full regalia:
“I get the impression of a bunch of adolescents who fancy themselves saving the day by dying at the Alamo, when the more appropriate analogy is Picketts Charge.”
Yeah, he’ll still be able to order pizzas.
precisely
Considering the evil way this country has been governed for a considerable length of time, a red one would be more appropriate. The worst defacement of the Stars and Stripes occurs when its enemies, our radical rulers fly it.
My question is can this country survive another 4 years with Janet Napolitano in charge of DHS and Eric Holder as Attorney General after their involvement in the “Fast and Furious.” Scandal
I don’t like romney any more than most, I just fear obama to such an extent that my vote is abo. like am earlier poster said, let the adults take care of business while people like you work on polishing your righteousness.
Supreme Court, taxes, immigration, climate change ... are all on Obama’s agenda.
They are all on Romney’s agenda too.. And from the looks of their records.. One will just continue the others work.
Thank you.. Have a nice day and no. I won’t vote for Romney.
Right on target!!! The ranting, raving, anti-Romney Freepers remind me of the saying from “Amazing Grace” which goes something like this “I was blind and could not see”. Sad!!! Simple, for Freedom, Liberty, Opportunity, Individualism, our children, our children yet to come, our magnificent country, ANYBODY BUT OBAMA!!!
As long as voters continue to play the game and vote for the “lesser of two evils”, we will continue to get what we’ve been getting—evil.
Seriously? If you believe this, than YOU are the one not facing reality.
Kill the first born male child in every household.
Good for you, enjoy Obie.
[shrug] Im not voting for Romney. Not even considering it. Have a nice day.
That’s like seeing a horrible crime committed and doing nothing about it because you don’t like cops. It’s your choice. Have a nice day.
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

KMA.
As he told Medevev, after Nov. he will much more flexible. As if we haven’t seen anything. This guy is so adamant about scolding friends like Israel, and almost anticipatory in capitulating to our enemies. I’ve heard many say Romney wouldn’t be much different, but I have a hard time seeing Romney putting Kagan or Sotomayor up for a supreme court justice. Granted, I’m not saying he’d give us another Scalia, but come on, these are two of the most liberal people on the planet. I would hate to give him 4 more years to replace a Scalia or a Thomas. I won’t hold my nose and vote for Romney, I will wear gas mask when I do it, but there really isn’t a viable alternative. It’s not hyperbole to state 4 more years of Obama will destroy this country. Think it’s been bad so far, wait till he no longer has an election to be concerned with. It’s your choice what to do with your vote, I’m just pleading the case for my kids.
If Romney loses, there will be nothing left to reunite. We will then get Michael Bloomberg as our Republican nominee next time around, probably to face off against Hillary Clinton or Cuomo or some other extreme libtard.
You see, you will NOT get a more conservative party by losing. History has shown that time and again.
He’ll start working on his third.
Better yet, South Africa.
Folks, it’s ABO. I know Mitt stinks to high heaven but we’re swinging for the fences. We have to get local constitutionalists elected first. You can’t get DC in line if you can’t get your neighborhood dogcatcher in first. Make The best deal you can now and then make sure you have the infrastructure to get a better deal later. Remember, 2010 was only two years ago and the parties have been entrenched for decades. Sit home if you want to. This is the real world.
Hopefully? Hope is a lack of a plan and also a denial of reality.
Nah, they’ll just sit behind their computer and complain. Really, who would they charge?
“You see, you will NOT get a more conservative party by losing. History has shown that time and again.”
Well, let’s just talk about American history, which they used to teach in the schools.
In 1916, the GOP lost to Wilson when the GOP ran the “progressive” Charles Evan Hughes. Four years later, in 1920, the GOP ran and won with the more conservative Warren Harding.
In 1960, the GOP lost to Kennedy when the GOP nominated and ran Richard Nixon. Four years later, the conservatives gained control of the party and nominated the much more conservative Barry Goldwater.
In 1976, the GOP lost to Carter when the GOP nominated and ran a moderate, Gerald Ford. Four years later, in 1980, the GOP nominated and won with the more conservative Ronald Reagan.
In 1996, the GOP lost to Clinton when the GOP nominated and ran a moderate named Bob Dole. Four years later, in 2000, the GOP nominated and won with the more conservative George W. Bush.
That is what history has shown.
and flyswatters, lots of flyswatters
What would he do? What he does every day. Try to take over the world...
Amen! These “take my ball and go homers” think that if Romney loses they will get their super conservative candidate in 2016.
Chances are that the conservative vote will split again and *viola* another mooshy establishment guy.
At least when I was a kid and they took their ball and went home you didn't have to listen to their whining any more. :^)
Yup, and he did not get elected governor in liberal Massachusetts being a conservative.
A republican congress wont save us. Obama will ignore them the same way he is now.
In this instance it means that we must stand behind a less than perfect, all right, abysmal candidate as opposed to holding our breath and stamping our feet until daddy or mommy decides that the candidate we want can be elected.
This is the real World, the only thing standing between the U.S. (us) and the Abyss ( a second Obama term filled with more and more dictatorial Executive Orders) is Romney. And NO a Republican Senate and Congress can not stop an Imperial president, particularly one run by the feckless leaders in the Congress now.
Stop crying, take a deep breath, hold your nose and go vote for Romney. Your children and posterity depend upon it and reality DEMANDS it!!.
In a casual conversation with my daughter yesterday (she works in city gov’t for a town that is suffering financially because of property values) I remarked that things will get better after Obama is defeated.
She snorted with laughter and declared, he’s not gonna be defeated. Not because she’s for him, she’s conservative but works among liberals.
I found the thought of Obama actually winning so overwhelming, so depressing and so horrible, I was almost sick.
I cannot believe this forum has turned into a site that wants Obama to be elected because of some malcontent, idiotic notion that they are ‘showing somebody’ or ‘proving their pureness and dedication.’
Anybody who votes for Obama (and that includes all the self-righteous holdouts) is for the destruction of our country.
Right! they have been so good at stopping all the dictates by executive order so far,. Boehner and Co are an unstoppable force for good! They are the best!
Flush out your head gear. Obama, unhindered by reelection desires will be even a greater disaster than he is now. It is highly unlikely that anything short of impeachment and removal, there is NO chance of the Republicans EVER removing or Impeaching the first Black President, will stop him from his Utopia.
Romney is everything that is bad with politics, only Obama is worse. Remember it is easier to persuade a Republican to sign Conservative legislation and budgets than it is to override a Marxists veto or his Executive Orders. Romney is also a business man who at least will be inclined to aid business and increase employment.
I have Four children, three of whom are alive and will have to live under the problems brought about by Obama, The other passed and I pray he can help to get God to intervene here and eliminate a second Obama term. His brothers futures depend upon it!
Don’t spoil this nice thread with idiocy.
Look into Obama’s eyes. That’s evil.
Not some guy you think is not conservative enough.
I did vote for Newt when I had the chance. Now, like Newt and Rick, I will reluctantly vote for Romney!
If Obama wins by a hair and we get more communism, the blame falls squarely on the 100/100 types who would not have voted for Reagan if he an today.
Go vote fr he Marxist Warren instead.
Blah, blah, blah.
We’ve never had a president like Obama.
I was thinking about Jimmy Carter while ago. He was an idiot, an egoist and a fool and did damage to our world-wide image and our economy but it wasn’t because he hated America or had muslim sympathies.
It wasn’t because everyone in his cabinet and circle of appointees was evil and incompetent.
Don’t even go there in comparing Obama to those people you named. Wake up. Grow up.
We’ve got to get rid of Obama.
We have a Federal Reserve Bank f’ing up the money supply. We have a progressive income tax that eliminates wealth creation and deters progress and work. Thank you President Wilson.
Goldwater LOST in a LANDSLIDE (The largest defeat EVER in history to that point) 58,000+ America boys died for lack of smart leadership in Vietnam and the Great Society was instituted and is STILL DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY SIXTY YEARS LATER! Thank you President Johnson!
Carter won and instituted the Community Reinvestment Act setting an economic time bomb that blew up several years later. 2008 ring a bell?.
Clinton WON TWO TERMS and destroyed the military and set the stage for the 9/11 massacre! Thank you President Clinton, Have A Cigar!
Your entire point is destroyed by a true look at history and the results of Imperial, Liberal, Progressive Jackasses that you see as somehow saving the Republican Party but in all reality just pull them and the country to the Left as they destroy the fabric of American Society.
Without a Republican President and a Republican House and Senate. We will have Universal Death Care. IT HAS PASSED, it is only through blunting the implementation and repealing the legislation BEFORE IT GOES INTO EFFECT IN 2014! If we do not there is NO REVERSING IT! Just like Medicare, Medicaid, The Federal Reserve, The Income tax, and the deaths that occurred on 9/11 and the mountains, jungles and killing fields of South East Asia.
The Future is too important to trust to the hands of a second Obama Administration!
Amen, brother. My husband would NOT be able to get health care under Obama. He’s too old and too worthless (but not to me).
Buy Lots Of Ammunition and Train
The people not supporting the Pub tickets up and down , are fooling themselves. This buy in the WH and Reid and San Fran Nan are not just ‘same old Dems ala JFK, Truman, Scoop Jackson, Hubert Humphrey, they are radical leftist socialists and no 3rd Party will stop them or even influence them. The shrugger of not voting for Mitt could at least vote Pub down ticket in House or Senate races. The reality is, it is either Mitt or Marx. A second term means SCOTUS changes, our defenses collapse, open borders, regs and taxes and spending ongoing till Greece and an end to our domestic energy system. So voters who do not vote or go with Paul or some other tact, are simply living in an alternative reality. This is end times stuff as far as our republic goes.
I fear that if Obama is reelected, November 6,2012 will be the last free US election in my lifetime.
Well said. You are 100% correct. Too bad that many will not understand the criticality of this election, until it's too late.
“He will talk a lot with the most left wing socialist rhetoric but I do not see that he would be able to achieve much.”
You are engaging in wishful thinking. Obama is writing executive orders to get around Congress. In his second term, if he gets one, there is nothing to stop him.
Executive orders such as closing Gitmo?... Well we all know how this went. The fool made this big stupid executive order on his second day in office and nothing happened. Executive orders are much limited in their scope, power, and the actual ability to execute these orders than many think.
Don't vote. Don't go outside. Stay in your bed where you can do no harm.
NEVER EVER REPRODUCE.
You are wasting your time trying to convince us to vote for Romney. I have principals and goals that are greater than this election.
If you think that telling me “Obama could win” will make me feel quilty, you’re sadly mistaken. The blame belongs squarely upon the shoulders of the GOP-e and the sad sacks who voted for Mitt in the primary.
