North Carolina Republican Primary - who are the real conservatives? (Vanity)
NC GOP ^ | 5/5/2012 | Self

Posted on 05/05/2012 8:35:30 AM PDT by RightGeek

The North Carolina primary is next Tuesday and based on the sample ballot and the number of robocalls I am getting, everybody and his grandmother is running and most of them claim to be true conservatives according to their Web sites listed at the NC GOP site linked above. There are even three people running against Renee Elmers in the 2nd District US House race claiming to be more conservative!

Can anyone recommend a list of conservative endorsements, Tea Party or otherwise?

TOPICS: US: North Carolina; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: 2012election; abortion; deathpanels; election2012; kenyanbornmuzzie; mittromney; newtgingrich; northcarolina; obamacare; primary; ricksantorum; zerocare
Also the NC GOP web site is really lame - it doesn't even have links that I can find for local and state legislature races.

More N.C. GOP candidates doubt Obama’s birthplace

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2880233/posts

Long after the controversy over President Obama’s birthplace seemed settled, some Republican congressional candidates in North Carolina have brought new attention to the issue as they seek advantages in hard-fought primary races.

Richard Hudson, considered a leading Republican candidate in the race to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell in the 8th Congressional District, told a Tea Party group in Rowan County recently that “there’s no question President Obama is hiding something on his citizenship.”

Dr. John Whitley, one of Hudson’s opponents in Tuesday’s primary, declared Obama’s birth certificate a “poorly reproduced forgery” after comparing it to the Hawaiian birth certificate of one of his campaign workers.

“There is a tremendous amount of smoke here,” Whitley said. “In fact, it’s called a smoke screen.”

George Hutchins, a candidate in District 4, is convinced the birth certificate is a forgery. He promises if elected in the fall to help lead an investigation of the birth certificate, regardless of whether Obama is re-elected or not. The Republican winner in the 4th will face Democrat David Price in the general election.

Thanks, but I have a sample ballot so I know who the candidates are. I am just trying to research their positions - particularly the huge crew I never heard of before that seem to have appeared for this primary.

I was in Renee’s district last cycle. Nobody wanted to run against Bob “Who Are You” Ethridge until she knocked him out.

Just for that I’d vote for her in the primary against the others.

But I got bumped to another district.

Pendergraph is a super RINO. Anti-gun to the max. Vote for Robert Pittenger for Myrick’s old seat.

Sue Myrick (District 9) is currently my rep, but my sample ballot only shows District 10 candidates. The Republicans who took over the legislature after The Great Shellacking in 2010 redrew the districts, and I only noticed today that we’re now in the 10th. Folks can go to the NC Board of Elections site and find out if their district has changed.

Any thoughts on Patrick McHenry who currently represents District 10 in the U.S. House? The local Tea Party seem to like Ken Fortenberry.
