Obama pleads at rally: Im asking you to keep believing in me
By Olivier Knox | The Ticket 4 hrs ago
Fighting to recapture the magic of his history-making 2008 campaign, President Barack Obama on Saturday laid out his fullest-yet case for reelection, pleading with struggling Americans to "keep believing in me" and hitting out at presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
"If people ask you what this campaign is about, you tell them 'it's still about hope.' You tell them 'it's still about change,'" he told a cheering mass of supporters at Ohio State University in Columbus, six months and one day before the election. "I still believe in you. And I'm asking you to keep believing in me."
Obama, his hopes for a second term weighed down by the stubbornly sluggish economic recovery, worked to convince Americans to view the vote not as a referendum on his record but as a choice between two very different candidates. He painted himself as the champion of the middle class and Romney as eager to "rubber stamp" House Republicans' goal "that we go right back to the policies that created this mess."
"We want businesses to succeed, we want entrepreneurs and investors rewarded when they take risks, when they create jobs and grow our economy. But the true measure of our prosperity is more than just a running tally of every balance sheet and quarterly profit report. I don't care how many ways you try to explain it: Corporations aren't people. People are people," Obama said, mocking a legally accurate but politically problematic comment from Romney early in the campaign.

” But the true measure of our prosperity is more than just a running tally of every balance sheet and quarterly profit report”
Yes it is!
I I I I I I I I I me me me me me me me me.
The rookie jerk sounds frantic.
Oh, I believe in him. Wish it were just a bad dream
If he’s pleading to half empty halls, spending all his time fundraising, and Wall Street’s money is backing Romney, this does not bode well for his re-election prospects.
Obama, you’re fired!
Obama opened to a half-empty stadium and they are celebrating it?
Let’s hope he contiues down this pathetic road. Soon he will be shedding tears for Julia and asking ‘folks’ to please faint while he is lecturing. Or hectoring. WHichever.
OSU is, aside from the usual assortment of deranged lib profs like every other college, pretty conservative.
I was truly shocked when Ohio went for Obama. I can promise it wasn’t my fault!
So now in the tradition of Marxist doublespeak the middle class has become the proletariat too. That is the change he pushes. Class warfare until there is no middle class. He is the destroyer of the bourgeois. EBT or elite was ever the goal of the left. Only to be thwarted by that nasty little notion of Liberty. Too bad the French forgot it. Hope enough of US wake up to it.
“Corporations aren’t people”
Who in the HELL are they.... slugs ?
Obama has got no concept of what business is.
Romney should have a cakewalk.
“I, uh, demand your, uh, complete loyalty!”
“Pull my finger again!”
I don’t think that ‘Please, please make me relevent’ is a good bumper sticker.
He needs to revisit the one about stopping the oceans’ rise and curing cancer or whatever the heck he promised in his immaculation.
After that, he can tell his supporters how blessed they are to have him.
Ever since that “performance” on Jimmy Fallon...I’ve smelled flop sweat.
This guy is very nervous. I think his internal polling is going in the toilet.
There. I fixed it.
“The rookie jerk sounds frantic.”
Notice how he’s giving speeches only at universities? It would appear that only children (and blacks too, of course) still “believe” in Obama. At least the children still have an excuse: it wasn’t but a couple of years earlier that they still believed in Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. And most of them still believe in Unicorns, Money Trees, Rainbow Power, windmills, and solar panels. And “believing” in Obama fits right in with that juvenile world view.
This guy is very nervous. I think his internal polling is going in the toilet.
He’s a nervous narcissist. Not a good combination.
Of course he’s frantic, he’s got a lot more vacation time to get in.
'cause college kids are stupid?
People stopped believing in him over a year ago. Even democrats are turning against him because he lied to them.
I was willing to give him a chance—I gave him a year—He just doesn’t have the chops for the job. I even gave him six months more but over and over he has proven to be not the smartest man in the room—nor one who can inspire others. Time to go back to Hawaii Obama—you have left a black mark on the job. Going to take years to undo the damage you caused to the nation.
“pleading to half empty halls”
I noticed on the news tonight, the cameras avoided panning the crowd. That is because there was no crowd.
What is this, The Wonderful World of Disney?
Welcome to The Magic Kingdom! /s
Barry, I got some news for ya....not ALL young voters have fallen for your hopey changy thing.
Be afraid, be very very afraid...
Keep believing in the disaster mindset and turning America into a jungle of unfarming Democrates in a “Democrate grab me a nigg@ for an Obama pimp hunger game”.
That’s where Rham and Obama rule, you know, in a crisis. Yeah, keep believing in him for that.
Even the Los Angeles Times (which in the past has been BO's cheerleader) posted the photo of the empty stands on their Web site.
Obama would have you believe in HIM when a American
President like Reagan would have you believe in
This kinda reminds me of the Star Trek episode “Who Mourns for Adonis?” in which an alien needed people to believ he was a god - without that belief, he would dissolve into nothingness.
“And I’m asking you to keep believing in me.”
Why doesn’t he just go all the way, put up some silly faux Greek columns, pull on a robe, and inquire: “Who do you say that I am?”
He wants people to succeed? So he can tax the hell out of them.
Take your community agitator ass home, America hates you.
Much as I hate to admit it, as a supporter of our Republican nominee, Obama is correct. Corporations aren’t people.
1. A corporation is a political body legally authorized to act AS a person.
2. A corpoaration is a legal creation authorized to act with the rights and liabilities OF a person.
Therefore, corporations aren’t people. Harvard Lawyer Obama is correct. Harvard Lawyer Romney is wrong.
Gee I have three s-corps, an LLC and I am on the board by myself on all but one where my wife joins me. Like probably 75 percent of all corporations. I guess you think I am not a person. Who would have thunk it. But you and Obama know better I guess.
Stupid is as stupid posts.
It’s about the Great Leap Forward.
Shut up and pay your taxes. And then pay more taxes.
(I agree with you).
I am sure that Obama defender here would agree. Lol. And I bet I don’t pay enough in their mind.
As the author mentioned, Romney is correct and Obama is wrong.
How can you tell your neighbor is stupid? He puts an Obama 2012 bumpersticker on his car. How can you tell your neighbor is really stupid? He puts it on the paint.
Are unions people?
You are truly a dumbass. You never had a business and likely never will. Not even worth explaining how ignorant you are. I have many many employees. You can’t operate as a single proprietor in most businesses. Even this website is a corporation. I Spose you think Jim is stupid???
Seriously I am laughing my ass off. On the floor rolling. “voting for the Republican nominee”. Hahaha. Rightttttttt. So what free stuff you want that magically government should give you??? Hahaha.
Grow up. Try and own a business and tell me if it will be a corporation. Or you think it’s a hotdog stand. Go do some research.
Kind of like TinkerBell — ‘if you believe in fairies, clap your hands.’ Or was it ‘whistle’?
‘You’re so lame/ you probably thot this song was about you/ you’re so lame.’
My response to Obama.
I believe he’s evil.
