Could the U.S. give up Mount Rushmore? Iconic site is on list of 'sacred land' UN says

A UN human official is urging the U.S. to turn over control of lands considered to be sacred to Native Americans, including the site of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples, unveiled his recommendations in Geneva on Friday after completing a 12-day visit to the U.S. where he met with representatives of indigenous peoples in six states.

The fact-finder also had a chance to meet members of the Obama administration and briefed the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, but no member of Congress agreed to meet with him.

For over a century, he said, the government had seized lands and resources from Native Americans, removed children from their families and communities, caused the loss of languages, broke treaties with tribes and oppressed the indigenous peoples on the grounds of racial discrimination.

Mount Rushmore, a popular tourist attraction, is located in the Black Hills, which the Sioux tribes consider to be sacred and have territorial claims to based on an 1868 treaty.

Shortly after that treaty was signed, gold was discovered in the region, and the U.S. Congress eventually passed a law taking over the land.

'I'm talking about restoring to indigenous peoples what obviously they're entitled to and they have a legitimate claim to in a way that is not divisive but restorative,' Mr Anaya said.

Whitey has been running around North America along with the American Indians and so on. I know, and it is a shame the American Indians got the short end of the stick,

Like there are more of them alive now that at any time in the past and living under better conditions (the so-called reservations notwithstanding).

America would be better off giving up the U.N.

Its not just about being “better off”. This is about survival as a sovereign nation. Adenda 21 is economic and cultural warfare being waged upon this nation. Simple as that.

there are a few references to UN Agenda 21 on this thread. Click on the link on Post 11 to get an idea what they’re up to.

Few realize also that federal regulations on the American fishing industry now conform to Agenda 21. This has devastated the industry since about 1996. All around the coast fishermen are going out of business because of this.

In New England, the Gov. of Mass. declared an Economic Disaster because of it. Then in the SE they were actually going to close the ocean for up to 35 yrs.

We are now importing 85% of seafood consumed from VietNam, China, ect

If the American people had any sand, this guy would be run over the northern border on a rail, or shot outright. This man is a FOREIGN ENEMY of America and the Constitution.

But our neutered population won't do anything.

I would say exactly what I think of the UN, but that kind of language would get me booted off FR for a week or two, maybe permanently.

By “Native Americans” is meant “Aboriginal Americans”. You know, “Nativism” was once a term for Anti-immigrationists, as they correctly counted themselves as natives, having been born here. More recently, I recall hearing a University of Vermont basketball player being referred to as a “native Vermonter” ( This was the year Vermont made inroads in the NCAA tournament. ) “Well,” I thought, “If he’s a native Vermonter, why isn’t he a Native American?” It’s kind of depressing if you think about it.

From the 2010 Republican Party of Texas Platform, page 29:

“We urge Congress to evict the United Nations from the United States and eliminate any further participation.”

Yes. We do.

#36: Re “Don’t we have any sacred land”?

Every where this is an American flier, soldier, sailor, Marine, Coast Guardsman, WAC, WAVE, WAFF, military nurse/doctor/corpsman/medic, Merchant Mariner, military & civilian POW, OSS/CIA agent, Special Forces/Rangers/Commandos/SEALS, buried, the soil or sea, is “SACRED LAND” of, for and by Americans.

If it weren’t for many of them, there would BE NO UN.

UN: Take that and shove it up your insane ass!

Same bunch of troublemakers that has been hassling the Pine Ridge and other reservations since the 1960’s. Wife beater Russel Means and the lot write a bunch of letters, some whackjob says he’ll so something about it, but they’re a whackjob and of course can’t come through, then Russel Means and the crew go running around saying ‘see? They lied to us again.’

Same song, same chorus, just a few different verses along the way.

Are parts of the Black Hills sacred to some? Absolutely. Are they pissed at Mt Rushmore? No more than they are ticked off at the Crazy Horse memorial. Would they like the government to live up to the treaties they signed? Sure. Do they expect it’ll happen? Not at all. Do these treaties have any validity? More validity than PelosiCare, that’s for sure.

As for the UN itself - heck no, don’t eject it. Build a fence around it, sell admission tickets, and funnel Americans through it so they can see just how awful it is to continue putting up with the liberal agenda.

Any body who is not aware of what Agenda 21 is had better get up to speed quick. It’s happening in our city, county, state and federal governments right now! It will not be good for us or our Constitution. Every body; and I mean every body who works at the UN should be arrested immediately and charged with crimes against humanity, convicted and hanged in Times Square before the end of the week.
