If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !
I’m not the one saying people are “spewing hatred”. I was pointing out that someone else was accusing FReepers of spewing hatred, and that might be why someone else thought they sounded shrill and angry.

Mitt was a man in his thirties when the LDS religious organization; based in Salt Lake City, decided to get with the rest of the nation and 'give' blacks a few 'rights' in it's institution. Oh; it is not phrased like this at all, from headquarters, but that GOD in his infinite wisdom had decided to relent.

As I’ve stated many times, I am biased toward God. I’m not a theologist, or a bible scholar, or even a great church-going Christian, but I was raised in a Christian family and I am a believer in the one true God. I believe “the Creator” who gave us life and unalienable rights is our Christian God, sometimes referred to as the Judeo-Christian God. I am not a preacher and do not try to convert anyone. I simply believe that our nation was founded by believers and our system of governance and law is based on biblical belief and that our form of government will not work under any other set of beliefs. I believe this country was better and freer in the days of our youth, before the war on Christianity was launched by non-believers and before our government representatives lost sight of and denied God. I believe we will never restore the constitutional limits on government or our unalienable rights until we once again allow God back into the public square and back into our hearts.
When I first started FR, we immediately came under attack by atheists, trolls and malcontents, who in many cases attacked us on our religious beliefs, so when I established the first set of rules for forum conduct, I included “No religious bigotry.” Didn’t realize at the time that I would’ve had to qualify that as “no anti-Christian bigotry” but that’s the way it is. I am definitely biased toward God and Christianity. Obviously, I also support Israel, the Jewish people and the Jewish Nation.

All joking aside, yes Americans are free to believe whatever they want. However, that doesn’t mean that they are free from other Americans voicing their own opinion about it, and it doesn’t mean their beliefs will be free from examination or criticism. It’s a free country, but you have to be willing to take everything that comes with it. Calling people bigots in order to get them to stop saying things you don’t want to hear is not going to work. It doesn’t work when liberals do it to conservatives, and I don’t believe it will work when one group of FReepers does it to another.

I've received, in the last hour, 2 1/2" of rain on my property here in central Indiana! My driveway is flooded and no doubt the grass seed I put down over the weekend has floated away!
