The Daily Caller has obtained a scrapped skit authored by comedian Jim Downey, intended for airing at the opening of last nights Saturday Night Live on NBC.
In the skit, which was not aired, President Barack Obama addresses Americans soon after the first anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden and the president makes sure to remind viewers that all credit for the raid on the terrorist leaders compound belonged to him.
I hope you had a safe and joyous first anniversary of his killing, the president, portrayed by Fred Armisen, begins.
Unfortunately, I wasnt able to be at home this year, as I had to fly to Afghanistan, to remind President Karzai that, exactly one year ago, we killed Osama bin Laden, and that the decision to do so was a gutsy one, the president continues. And was mine.

The list, Ping

Since when did SNL obtain a sense of propriety ?
Since they got that call on the red phone.
SNL took Axelrod’s call.
When will Hollywood come up with a movie of the event, portraying Obama as leading the seals into the compound and personally firing the rounds that killed Osama?
I think it is kinda funny they even had this as a script idea.
SNL can not eat one of its own. Jimmy Kimmel ate Obama at the White House Press Dinner last week. Very funny!
He’s a terrible Obama—presumably by plan.
Imagine how funny SNL is going to be again, after Romney is elected, when they can make fun of a President without fear of losing their jobs, or being black-listed by the Hollywood/Media Gay Mafia?
Do you think they would have pulled the skit if it lampooned GWB or some conservative?
SNL was at it's funniest in the 70s & 80s when they didn't pull their punches.
The skit sounds hilarious.
“Killing Osama bin Laden Day to a friend who happens to be Muslim, we should be considerate of Islamic cultural tradition. To many Muslims, phrases like Osama bin Laden “went dirt-napping, or assumed room temperature, or sleeps with the fishes, can be offensive. Especially the last one, since, as we all know, he was buried at sea.
And of course, lets all remember that heavy drinking, and Killing Osama bin Laden Day, are never a good combination. So please celebrate Killing Osama bin Laden Day responsibly. After all, its the gutsy decision.”
NBC? Why am I not surprised?
This weeks SNL was terrible, just terrible.
Since someone made them an offer they couldn't refuse? Remember those recent Ford ads featuring actual Ford buyers in a (staged) press conference about their purchase of a Ford. I read they had to pull the one in which the buyers said they had decided on Ford because it didn't take a gov't bailout . . .
They're like Larry Flynt, The Southern Poverty Law Center, and New York Times: they ONLY stomp on conservatives... Total bias.
I may be wrong but I seem to recall the original idea was to try and take him alive and not kill him and that the killing was due to circumstances as they unfolded. If anything the killing meant to a certain degree the mission was a failure.
SNL is still on?
“When will Hollywood come up with a movie of the event, portraying Obama as leading the seals into the compound and personally firing the rounds that killed Osama?”
They did. It was called “Independence Day.”
Swap out Aliens for Islamic Terrorists.
