Gov. Christie: Israeli control is best for proper worship at holy sites Apr 4, 2012 - TIBERIAS, Israel After Gov. Chris Christie, his family and top staffers made a day-long sojourn through the New Testament today, the ...

Muslim control makes Christian holy sites a grand headache to see, if not trashing them.
Jews may (for the most part, and now) adamantly resist the Christian gospel, but their administration of Christian holy sites was always very fair. You virtually never had Moose causing trouble at them, and Christians could worship in peace.
The rich people in France are sailing away to England this week to avoid the coming 75% tax rates. They won't stay there. They need to be told about New Jersey ~ even the highest taxes in America are going to be far less heavy than in France, and Jersey needs somebody to pay the bills now that all their rich people moved away.
BTW, the Jewish people are signing up to emigrate to Israel from France. 50,000 of them did so just this weekend.
Guess who put their money and their expertise into restoration into its present usable form?
If your answer rhymed with "juice", then go to the head of the class.
Will be there in 2 weeks! Can’t wait!
France is going to suffer brain drain and purse drain. It will be a barren socialist/communist wilderness before long. These hare brained schemes never ever work. It’s worse than trying to nail jello to a tree.
Enjoy, stay safe. 'Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.'
Wonder if Chris Christie checked out his comments with his Muslim buddy in advance?
Guess he is serious about trying to weasel his way into Second Place on the GOP ticket.
Right on. I can understand how Jews feel with a lefti-liberal who is pro Tariq Ramadana... It’s an indirect Islamic led ETHNIC CLEANSING.
Yes, Pray, and know where the safety is on an AK-47.
As a NOT-at-all-Romney-fan let me say... We are all tired of ‘this is the best we got - Romney’ syndrome. Yet, Obama is a 1,000 times worse.
We need both, God will help VIA the AK-47. We were there a few years ago. We had a great time.
Didn’t say a word about Romney. I was talking about Christie the RINO.
I read 5000. Where did you read 50?
“BTW, the Jewish people are signing up to emigrate to Israel from France. 50,000 of them did so just this weekend.”
And they are taking all of the gold from the French treasury with them!
It was 5000 who ATTENDED an emigration expo....
Guess they know he's soft on illegals and Moslems (same thing) too.
“Guess who put their money and their expertise into restoration into its present usable form?...If your answer rhymed with “juice”, then go to the head of the class.”
Source please? I think you are conflating that idiot Dayan’s begging the waqf to stay with Jewish “money and their expertise into restoration”.
Do you have a source for that?
"... Richard Prasquier, head of Frances official umbrella group of Jewish organizations, penned an article worrying about a Hollande victory. Sarkozy has a deep knowledge of Israel and a deep sympathy for this country, he wrote, adding that a Hollande victory would lead to a surge in leftist and Communist manifestations of anti-Zionism.
And what of Le Pen, whose party actually has a not-at-all-distant anti-Semitic past? The Muslim community and immigration issues were at the forefront of their campaign, he explained. Indeed, Marine Le Pen even tried to attract Jewish voters as if the past of the National Front and/or the view of some of its still influential leaders had not been known.
In turn, other French Jews criticized Prasquier and the Jewish establishment he represents for making common cause with a resurgent far right and focusing disproportionate ire on a marginalized far left. Golly gee, that sure sounds familiar!
The above is from a LW Jewish site.
My sources? Other French Jews who lived there many years and then left ~ maybe they are too dismissive? Bet they are still good witnesses.
Crispie Creme visiting Israel appears to signal he will be the VP for Mutt...
Bottom line: the supposed third holiest site in Islam went without even rudimentary maintenance for hundreds of years until it fell under a British mandate after World War I. It then went without essential repairs under Muslim control from the time of a 1927 earthquake until Israel captured all of Jerusalem in the six day war 40 years later and Moshe Dayan turned the day to day management over to a Muslim religious trust to whom the Israelis lent their expertise and money in making a full restoration.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Class warfare, religious warfare, all coming to France. Viva la difference. I’m tempted to go there just to leave.
“You can start with Guy Le Strange’s book Palestine under the Moslems: A Description of Syria and the Holy Land from A.D. 650 to 1500 first published in 1890”
I’ll see if its in my local library, but since it’s approx $50 on Amazon, if you if you have a copy, perhaps you could scan a few of the relevant pages and post them?
“Then review the footnote sources under the Wikipedia article Dome of the Rock.”
I read through the entire article
as well as the footnotes there and and unless I missed it, nothing jumped out asserting as you did about the “ Muslim religious trust to whom the Israelis lent their expertise and money in making a full restoration.”
As before there is no question that some Jews were stupid to hand it over to the muslim trust in 1967, and it would not surprise me if some Jews were stupid enough to help them rebuild it, but as previous, I asked you for a source to confirm that latter part; perhaps you could point to a specific footnote/reference that does?
( I do see footnotes such as this one:
“Hashemite Restorations of the Islamic Holy Places in Jerusalem kinghussein.gov.jo Retrieved 21 January 2008”. Kinghussein.gov.jo. Retrieved 2012-04-04.”
Which links to
which mentions how the arabs paid for the restorations. Given that arabs wouldn’t give credit to Jews for anything I see this as likely self-serving...)
That book, as well as the Jewish role, in the restoration of the Dome of the Rock, was also discussed on a Free Republic thread more than 10 years ago.
You might try Googling it. I don't know if we have a Jewish caucus on Free Republic, but maybe we should.
