Secret U.S. program releases high-level insurgents in exchange for pledges of peace

KABUL — The United States has for several years been secretly releasing high-level detainees from a military prison in Afghanistan as part of negotiations with insurgent groups, a bold effort to quell violence but one that U.S. officials acknowledge poses substantial risks. ****************** But the releases are an inherent gamble: The freed detainees are often notorious fighters who would not be released under the traditional legal system for military prisoners in Afghanistan. They must promise to give up violence — and U.S. officials warn them that if they are caught attacking American troops, they will be detained once again.

Didn’t the Germans promise to be content with the Sudetenland in 1938? Why are gullible western politicians always so eager to believe those who have publicly pledged to destroy the west? Just asking.

"Releasing killers to kill again."

It's called giving aid and comfort to the enemy. And Traitorobama does it as easily as normal people breath.

And in continuing to shirk their sworn duty, Congress joins with him.

I hope they hired another GS-15 to stand behind them and make sure they didn’t cross their fingers.

What it was:

Convicts were fastened to a hurdle, or wooden panel, and drawn by horse to the place of execution, where they were hanged (almost to the point of death), emasculated, disembowelled, beheaded and quartered (chopped into four pieces). Their remains were often displayed in prominent places across the country, such as London Bridge.

Thought this was satire, but sadly our massive federal bureaucracy has spat out another policy that defies all human reason..the ‘no hitting other children, Jimmy’ as a war policy.

No kidding. the first thing I did was look to see "The Onion" or "Semi-Satire Semi-News" on the byline. In a way I'm floored at the absolute epic stupidity and in another this in completely in keeping with the absolute idiots running the country today.

Monty Python could have had a field day with some of this stuff.

I'm sure if they don't live up to the promise we will make them sit in the Comfy Chair...

The Jews have been trying this for years. Never works. But hey, its stupid and always fails and has the side benefit of strengthening our enemies and the Muslims, so Obama with do it.

Only good I see in this Diplomatic blunder is the second time we should just shoot them instead of putting them up in a prison that is a hundred times more comfortable than their Muslim hellish lifestyle.

I have no issues whatsoever with this provided:

1. They Brain-wash, dry and fold the people they release so they become “double agents”

2. They install tracker devices in there people that are virtually untracable.

3. They use them to undermine the terorist organisation without them knowing about it...

But since all the above is pretty much hollywood fantasy they shouldn’t be releasing them anyways.

We will release you if you promise to behave.

If you don't behave...we will detain you, and then release you if you promise to behave.

"We" are stupid.
