The actor John Travolta is being sued for $2 million (£1.2 million) by an unidentified masseur who claims the Hollywood star assaulted him sexually during a massage in January inside a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel, according to court documents.

No surprise here, the Travolta rumors have been around for decades.
Travolta's spokesman dismissed the claim in a statement as a "baseless lie."
"On the date when plaintiff claims John met him, John was not in California and it can be proved that he was on the East Coast," the statement said. "John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and plaintiff for malicious prosecution."

I am strangely surprised that I am not surprised that the victim was a masseur, not a masseuse.

According to the article, plaintiff’s attorney tried to “resolve” the matter with Travolta before filing suit. In other words, tried to get Travolta to give him a bunch of $$$ to avoid the lawsuit. When that didn’t work, the plaintiff filed the lawsuit, demanded a jury trial, and his attorney released the info to Reuters. That’s a standard escalation of an attempted legal extortion, with the attorney/plaintiff still hoping to force an out-of-court settlement from Travolta. In the meantime, the plaintiff is allowed to conceal his own identity so nobody can question him or bother him.
I don’t think the plaintiff’s in it for the notoriety. He’s in it for the money.

But if it’s true it paints an extremely bad picture of Travolta’s mental state. Basically that he prostituted himself to men to get roles and thereafter acquired a taste for perversion.
In my book he was great in Saturday Night Fever. And at least he played a ladies’ man. He was very good at playing a cartoon of a cool New York dude.

He may not have looked like a ladies’ man in the movie but some of them were after him. But I still liked his acting and dancing (and of course the great BeeGees music). True, he had a dancing double but he did a lot of it himself and quite well.
