Democrat representative breaks ranks, criticizes Eric Holder
Human Events ^ | 05/08/2012 | John Hayward

Sometimes elections get results, even before they happen.

Matthew Boyle at the Daily Caller reports what could be a significant development in the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama Administration’s deadly “gun walking” program. A House Democrat has broken ranks with his party - which is absurdly trying to claim that Attorney General Eric Holder has complied with House Oversight subpoenas, even though not a single category of requested documents has been fully provided, and Holder has failed to produce anything to satisfy 13 of the 22 categories.

The ranking Democrat on House Oversight, Elijah Cummings (D-MD), comically insists that Holder is “still producing documents,” a process that apparently involves chiseling subpoena responses upon blocks of granite, and will be completed at some indeterminate point after the next election. It’s noteworthy that Holder’s defenders can never specify exactly which documents are still squeezing their way between the cracks of the Justice Department stone wall, or explain why it’s taking them so long to materialize.

On the eve of Holder’s citation for contempt of Congress, one Democrat appears to have had enough:

Indiana Democratic Rep. Joe Donnelly told The Daily Caller on Tuesday that he supports the House oversight committee’s efforts to enforce the congressional subpoena of Attorney General Eric Holder over Operation Fast and Furious.

“One of the duties of Congress is to provide oversight of the Executive Branch,” Donnelly told TheDC. “There has been a serious allegation of federal law enforcement misconduct and we need to get to the bottom of this issue without playing partisan politics.”

It’s not clear from this statement whether Donnelly would support contempt charges against Holder, but he’s making a pretty major break from the Party line, which holds that the entire Fast and Furious investigation is a partisan witch hunt. The other members of the distressingly small group of House Democrats who took Fast and Furious seriously are more likely to answer questions about it with a terse “no comment” these days.

As it happens, Donnelly is the sole Democrat candidate in the Indiana Senate race, whose Republican contender will be either incumbent Richard Lugar or Richard Mourdock, depending on how Tuesday night’s primary goes. Sometimes elections get results, even before they happen.

Murdergate

December 8, 2011
Dear Representative Gardner:
Dear Senator Udall:
Dear Senator Bennet:

Let's call Fast and Furious, Castaway, "Grenade Walker" and "Cash Walker" what they are. State-sponsored terrorism.

On this side of the border they are violations of the RICO Act. In Mexico and Honduras it is state-sponsored terrorism.

What else would you call heavily arming international criminal syndicates within foreign countries wherein those countries are in a death struggle with those syndicates?

Especially when it goes beyond thousands of assault rifles to include grenades, RPGs, shoulder fired rockets, anti-aircraft guns, night vision equipment, body armor and special deals to bring their drugs onto our soil with legal impunity?

Not to mention the just-revealed news that the rip crew that killed BP Agent Brian Terry was there with DEA and FBI assistance and approval to attack and kill a rival cartel's smuggling crew.

Let's not leave out the FBI and DEA laundering millions of dollars for the drug cartels by setting up bank accounts for them that they otherwise couldn't do.

It is organized, it is spread throughout every Federal LEA and it violates numerous domestic laws and numerous statutes and treaties that deal with foreign nations. Yet none of it has been officially sanctioned by Congress. (that I know of) It is the Federal government acting like mafioso.

Pres. Obama, AG Eric Holder and Sec. State Hillary Clinton are all deeply involved in this and it is unquestionably state-sponsored terrorism by the definition used to define states like Iran and North Korea.

PS: if you think I am wrong or exaggerating any of this I will be glad to bring you up to speed with very well sourced articles, legal depositions (publically available) and other public information that verifies every word I have said.

Either you are with these criminals or you are with U.S. I implore you to get informed, get involved and act or get run over by this. This lawless scandal is not going away.

Sincerely,

Mr. (TigersEye)

Nothing these Democrats do should be taken at face value

That means that F&F/Murdergate is a winning issue doesn't it?

You’re welcome. I signed several months ago. I think FReeper Jeff Head was the first to post this petition to FR. I haven’t really delved into that site past signing the petition but check out their “about” page while you’re there. It looks like one of the better Tea Party groups out there to me.

He’s a Representative. It would be Pelosi giving orders, not Reid

Frank discussion re our loss to Obama/Romney and the future direction of FR and tea party movement by Jim Robinson

Obama's algae energy euphoria: Is pond scum a green scam?

Issa to Holder: You can still avoid contempt if you give up Fast and Furious documents

Democrat breaks ranks, supports Issa’s push to enforce Fast and Furious subpoena

Donnelly was one of 31 House Democrats who, in June 2011, wrote to President Barack Obama asking him to direct Holder and the Justice Department to comply with the congressional investigation into Fast and Furious.

Congressional Black Caucus member Georgia Rep. Sanford Bishop was reported as having signed that letter. If that's true, then the GOP racist cabal meme went poof.

Some noteworthy articles about politics, foreign or military affairs, IMHO, FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.

one Democrat appears to have had enough

I just wish Elijah Cummings (D-MD) was a real American who rejected evil (partisan socialism) and voted for goodness (America's best interests).

America has been very good to Cummings. IMHO he repays the country with disloyalty to the Constitution he swore to uphold and defend.

Obama needs to damage the Democrat brand so bad that this becomes the norm, not an isolated case.

In a saner time, today's RINO's would control the Democrat Party, today's conservatives would control the GOP and today's Democrats would be a fringe third party.
