Officials: Al-Qaida bomber was CIA informant
Breitbart ^ | MAY 7, 2012 | EILEEN SULLIVAN, MATT APUZZO and ADAM GOLDMAN

Posted on 05/08/2012 3:29:05 PM PDT by RobinMasters

U.S. and Yemeni officials say the supposed would-be bomber at the heart of an al-Qaida airliner plot was actually an informant working for the CIA.

The revelation, first reported by The Los Angeles Times, shows how the CIA was able to get its hands on a sophisticated underwear bomb well before an attack was set in motion.

Officials say the informant was working for the CIA and Saudi Arabian intelligence when he was given the bomb. He then turned the device over to authorities. Officials say the informant is safely out of Yemen.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive intelligence matter.

By the time October rolls around, the MSM won’t know what to report on next... the 0.01% unemployment, the 99% reduction in government spending or the dozens of daily terror busts personally conducted by Colonel Obama.

If the CIA is smart, then they released this even though they found the bomb through other means thus making Al Qaida suspicious of all of their suicide bombers. And if unicorns crapped skittles we would not have to grow any other food.

The agency recovered the bomb in recent weeks, but it's not clear what happened to the would-be suicide bomber. The bomber "is in no position to harm us," Rogers said.

I guess this update explains that. /s

It does seem that way too much about this story leaked way too early. AP apparently had the story Friday and held it. If any of this had gotten out, that double agent would be dead, and the asset, the “underwear bomb” would still be in Yemen.

Washington is far too leaky to do serious espionage. Heads need to roll over this.

Anyone noticing a pattern here? The informant who ratted out bin ladens location got ratted out to the Pakistani gov. by someone in our government also. As a matter of fact, didn’t good ole’ Leon make a big public statement about that particular informant?

Search “Leon Panetta communist ties”.

The only way to regard anything that issues from the Criminal Media Syndicate, aka the Mainstream Media, is to assume everything is a lie. No need to waste time reading it or trying to make sense of it. Disregard and move on.

“British agent in underpants bomb plot had been working undercover ‘for up to a year’

Future operations and Intellience sharing between Britain and the US may have been endangered by the leaking of sensitive details about the agent who infiltrated an al-Qaeda cell plotting an underpants bomb attack.”

By Duncan Gardham, Tom Whitehead
8:30PM BST 11 May 2012

SNIPPET: “Both MI6 and the CIA are thought to be extremely unhappy that details of British undercover agent became public.

President Obama’s Administration was criticised yesterday and a top-level investigation opened in Washington after accusations that the information, released initially by unnamed US sources to an American news agency, had been used for political pointscoring.”

SNIPPET: “Downing Street declined to comment on the case.

David Cameron’s official spokesman told reporters at a regular daily briefing: “I understand there is an investigation under way, being led by the Americans. It is clearly a matter for the US authorities. Clearly, we think that sensitive information should be protected.””

SNIPPET: “Nigel Inkster, a former assistant chief of MI6, said in a Twitter message: “The revelations about the British agent in AQ [al Qaeda] remind us that Beltway leaking is a major security threat,” referring to the area of Washington DC.”
