Lugar Defeated by Mourdock in Republican Primary

Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., one of the longest-serving members of the Senate, lost the Republican primary to state Treasurer Richard Mourdock on Tuesday. With 14 percent of the vote counted according to the AP tally, NBC News has called the race for Mourdock, who leads Lugar 61 percent to 39 percent.

Facing a headwind of tea party anger and hamstrung by a lingering story about his out-of-state residency, Lugar's campaign struggled badly in the final weeks of the campaign to make a forceful case for his re-election. Mourdock's bid was boosted by national conservative support from groups like the anti-tax Club For Growth, which ran a series of negative ads against the incumbent.

I'm praying that this overwhelming win in Indiana speaks loud and clear to the "Establishment" AND the Romney campaign = "don't sell the TEA Party down the drain just yet," Romney is in place simply because there were too many candidates claiming the conservative mantle.

I'm certain that there were and are a number of candidates who really believe that they would be the best to win against Obama but what that really got for those of us in the conservative camp was a true non-conservative on any level, simply because the others refused to pool their resources for "the best candidate" to win.

Yeah, baby.

If Indiana couldn't reject a RINO occasionally, the country is lost.

We are just sitting around with itchy fingers waiting to scratch our ballot. We don't need mobs in the street.

“Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., one of the longest-serving members of the Senate.”

Serving actually implies doing something for someone. There is no senator working for the people any longer or either party.

Much the same exists in the House.

We are the highest taxes, least served people in the history of the world.

f - em vote them all out. Every time, every vote. Move to have one six year term then gone - by the people.

He has been holding off support of the Lost treaty (Law of the Sea) until after the primary. He is going full left now.

The Obamedia’s reports of the TEA Party’s demise were greatly exaggerated. Just wait until November’s electoral tsunami hits.

But, but, but . . . I thought the Tea Party was dead!?!

Yeah, if the mainstream media doesn't see you banging a bongo in the street, you're dead. Nah, the Tea Party shows up when it counts -- on election day.
