Kelloggs Defends Hate Speech
Catholic League Online ^ | May 4, 2012 | Catholic League Online

"Over the past two weeks, we sent our complaint about Jon Stewart’s “vagina manger” stunt of April 16 to the major sponsors of “The Daily Show”; we made sure they received a copy of the picture flashed on the screen of a naked woman with her legs spread with a nativity scene ornament in between. We are pleased with Delta’s response, and are awaiting a reply from others, many of which were contacted only this week. But we were taken aback by this response from Kellogg’s: “We understand that our customers come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, lifestyles, and cultures and we respect their individual decisions to choose the television programs that they deem acceptable for themselves and their families. Consumers speak most loudly when they vote with their remote control and change the channel or turn off the TV if a program does not fit their personal criteria.”

Jon Stewarts history as a bigot from the Catholic League website: http://www.catholicleague.org/jon-stewarts-history-of-bigotry/ "Born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, Jon Stewart is a self-described “tiny, neurotic man.” In 1999, he mocked the pope when the Holy Father visited the U.S. In 2001, he compared the pope to the Grand Wizard of the KKK In 2002, he questioned whether Mary and Joseph had oral sex In 2007, he made an oral sex joke about a bishop In 2008, he made a gay joke about the Holy Family In 2008, he ridiculed priestly celibacy In 2011, he mocked the Body and Blood of Jesus In 2011, he claimed that a Norwegian madman was acting like a Christian In 2012, he said Our Blessed Mother was “knocked up”

Yup, use the remote and turn the channel today, then buy Quaker Oats bagged cereals tomorrow. They are cheaper, just as good and don’t sponsor Christian haters.

I think Kellogg's nailed it. I don't watch him at my house, and change the channel every time I see him being advertised. I opt not to support Jon Stewart; that said, you are free to watch him as much, or as little, as you would like.

Here’s the webpage with the products:

I’m boycotting all of them.

The Catholics should publish a list of PROSCRIBED products, programs, publications etc. I'm not Catholic but am outraged and disgusted with Kellogs et. al.

BOYCOTT the jerks...

If you haven’t tried the Quaker (or other brand) “Steel Cut Oats”, you are missing out. It’s the oats that are cut, but are not steamed, rolled, re-cooked and toasted (this removes much of the protein and nutrition). Seriously, this process takes a lot of the protein out of the oats - which is then dried and made into other products. The Steel Cut Oats take a full 30 minutes to cook - but they are so creamy and good - you’ll never go back to oatmeal.

Kelloggs would have nailed it if they had added the second line....

“Consumers speak most loudly when they vote with their remote control and change the channel or turn off the TV if a program does not fit their personal criteria.”

....and withhold their money from companies that support, through advertising, the bigotry.

What would the Seventh Day Adventists who founded Kelloggs think of this?

We are going to the store today. Thanks for the hint!
I’ll bet they can be made in a Crock Pot. Set them up the night before, hot breakfast in the morning!

Maybe the 14,000 Knights if Columbus councils in the USA should boycott them.

The really funny part is that I don’t have cable. I couldn’t turn the channel if I tried.

But I can skip the PopTarts and actually pull my dollars for real.

I would hope they would be as offended and outraged as we are.

I love throwing in some dried cranberries and sliced almonds - that and some brown sugar. But, be warned - this stuff is CREAMY!! As in it’s comparable to regular oatmeal made with heavy whipping cream.

“Nice historical context.”

I can’t take credit for it, but thanks. Crystal clear.

Interesting background on the apologies he issued in the past, eh?
