Kelloggs Defends Hate Speech
Catholic League Online ^ | May 4, 2012 | Catholic League Online

"Over the past two weeks, we sent our complaint about Jon Stewart’s “vagina manger” stunt of April 16 to the major sponsors of “The Daily Show”; we made sure they received a copy of the picture flashed on the screen of a naked woman with her legs spread with a nativity scene ornament in between. We are pleased with Delta’s response, and are awaiting a reply from others, many of which were contacted only this week. But we were taken aback by this response from Kellogg’s: “We understand that our customers come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, lifestyles, and cultures and we respect their individual decisions to choose the television programs that they deem acceptable for themselves and their families. Consumers speak most loudly when they vote with their remote control and change the channel or turn off the TV if a program does not fit their personal criteria.”

When I was in school, our small town’s school principle’s name was “Mr. Kellog.” He started out the school year by sternly announcing “My name is Mr. Kellogg. I do not like to be called Mr. Fruit Loops or Mr. Corn Flakes”.

One day he was arrested for picking up a gay prosititute in Minneapolis and he never came back to school then.

Seven years later, during a graduation speech, the girl giving a speech was recalling found memories of our class. “Remember when we all thought there was a ghost in the auditorium? Remember when Sally left spoiled milk in her locker? Remember when Mr. Kellogg was arrested for picking up a gay prostitute?”

Amen. I don’t eat grains, so it won’t bother me boycotting them.

Real eaters of the real oatmeal, a dish that originated in Scotland, eat it with salt. I recommend trying it.

Yup. Straight oats w/ dash of salt is the best way to do it. Maybe a spot of jelly, although thats not exactly authentic.

We make our own breakfast cereals from natural raw ingredients. Kelloggs products taste like wood by comparison.

Exactly. And although the link below is humorous, Kellogg’s is highly aware of one of their most loyal consumer groups. I flunked logic in college, so I may not be the best at interpreting causation, however, it seems to me that there may be a common link between the Daily Show and Kelloggs.

McCanns are the best SCO. Quaker isn't bad, tho. You are right about oatmeal-yuck.

I use cooked and dried steel cut oats in my breads. It makes a deliciously crunchy loaf.

“What would the Seventh Day Adventists who founded Kelloggs think of this?” I would hope they would be as offended and outraged as we are.

I would hope that any Christian denomination would be thoroughly horrified.

We need to replicate what the Leftists did to Rush. Overwhelm Twitter and Facebook with boycott chatter. The twenty-something marketing people at Kelloggs who live on social media will get scared and think 100 million people are boycotting their products.

They all claim to be equal opportunity bashers....you can hear the crickets when you ask for examples of the same treatment toward muslims....

Don’t think I’ll turn off the TV entirely, but I have purchased my last Kellogs product.

Yes. Only when it affects them personally, (their bottom line), will there be a reaction.

Here’s to effecting a change by affecting the bottom line.

Tell your dad that Pillsbury Toaster Struedel is much, much better!

As for me - I’ll stick with Nabisco Shredded Wheat instead of Special K.
