*chuckle*
Let ‘em complain. ;-)
I guess methane from cow farts has moved down the “top threat to the world” list to the #2 spot.
“Sam Kass said. Its not just the fact that obesity may be our nations greatest national security threat, “
So, what will they do about it? Round up all those dangerous fat folks and put them in concentration camps to protect the national security? Actually, that might work. The grim and insufficient concentration camp diets would cause rapid weight loss, transforming those dangerous fat folk into non-national-security-threatening slender folk.
It’s simple. Put the fatties in jail along with the makers of any food with no to little nutritional value including fast food and candy. Instead of rehab, they will be forced into fat camps where they will receive proper nutrition education and exercise. Anyone manufacturing said food shall be prosecuted to the full extent using our current system of laws and penalties as applies to illegal drugs. Again, fatties are an unwanted burden on insurance and society as a whole.
Drug’s are already regulated with the same mindset. If a drug is deemed as providing no medicinal value, it is banned. The same should apply to food. If the Fed Gov is trustworthy enough to manage drugs and pharmaceuticals, surely they can do the same with food. If its good for the goose, its good for the gander.
It is no secret the many Republicans and Conservatives support criminalization of certain products and behaviors based on their damage to a person or society, no matter if it is self inflicted. Why should food be any different? To suggest that people be allowed to destroy themselves and burden society using food, but not drugs, is the height of hyprocricy and arrogance. Fatties are no better than dopers or drug addicts and they should be treated the same. Lock them up, throw away the key, and move on.
