Obama announces his support for same-sex marriage
ABC OTUS News ^ | May 9, 2012 | Rick Klein

President Obama today announced that he now supports

same-sex marriage, reversing his longstanding opposition amid growing pressure

from the Democratic base and even his own vice president.

In an interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts, the president

described his thought process as an “evolution” that led him to this place,

based on conversations with his own staff members, openly gay and lesbian

service members, and conversations with his wife and own daughters.

"I have to tell you that over the course of several

years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about

members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous

relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I

think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there

fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't

Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at

a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for

me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get

married,” Obama told Roberts, in an interview to appear on ABC’s “Good Morning

America” Thursday. Excerpts of the interview will air tonight on ABC’s “World

News with Diane Sawyer.”

He had conversations “with his own daughters” about this? What a POS....how old are they?

Romney will “evolve” as far as Bambam by 2016. He’s getting us to the same place, just a tad slower.

He’s just trying to hold a handful of states (Cal, Oregon, Wash, Vermont, Rhode Island, New York) so that he doesn’t get crushed worse than McGovern or Mondale did.

He's got to make sure Hollyweird will still give him his new talk show as the new male Oprah once he's out of office. If he goes down as a hero for the radical left's causes, his post-presidential career in the world of the left will be well-secured. If he goes moderate and loses the election, they'll blame him for both selling them out and not even getting to keep the White House to show for it.

Going strictly for base blue states now to head off the Mittens landslide. This firms up the West Coast, and probably puts CO out of reach; conversely Bobo just put PA, WI, IA and MI onto Mittens map.

But in cold stark reality, Bobo's blown (heh) a kiss-off to the South, and so it's over. No VA, no NC, no tickee no shirtee.

Now begins our conservative efforts to extract every possible guarantee out of Mitt, starting with a conservative VP.

What kind of animal is a conservative democrat anyway?

I had a conversation with a guy not too long ago who didn’t realize he’s a conservative. All of his values are conservative, but he votes Democrat. When I asked him why, he claimed to be an “old-school” Democrat.

When I asked what that was, he had no idea. Come to find out ... his family has always voted Democrat. So he does too.

Idiot. That’s what we’re dealing with out there.

"No, wait a minute...shouldn’t he have said something BEFORE the vote?"

Exactly. Imagine the anti-Amendment One homos hearing Bobo's big news and facepalming, "WTF? We coulda' used that a little SOONER, Barry."

Still would have passed, but it's the principle of this stooge, in that he has no principles at all...

I’ve always wondered why Joe Manchin continues to be a democrat. He’s pro-life, pro-gun, and pro-traditional marriage. He also ran for the senate AGAINST Obamacare.
He has nothing at all in common with any other democrat in Washington, DC. If any politician needed to switch parties, it’s Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

If they move their convention out of NC over NC’s vote, it would be more than political theatre. It would show the entire nation what the jackass party is and what it views as important. Let them move it to San Fransicko and while Barry is giving his acceptance speech, God can release a magnitude 10 earthquake in the Bay area. That would make a definite statement!

How-in-the-world...did that guy ever get elected POTUS. Words fail me. Unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable that this...this...whatever in the world he is...ever got elected, just baffles me to no end. Think of the empty skulls full of mush who voted him in. We are in such serious, deep trouble in this country...for there is a real possibility that this guy will be re-elected.

"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors, when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together...You know, Malia and Sasha, they have friends whose parents are same-sex couples. There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we're talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends' parents would be treated differently."

Let me tell you something Bobo, Malia and Sasha can look at those "same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together" and if even they are as thick-headed as their mom, they know it's impossible for those "same-sex couples" to have produced those "kids".

Music to my ears. I’ve believed this all along and told a friend who is a liberal Democrat immediately after Obama’s election that he would rue the day Obama became President because Obama would be such a disaster once in office, it would lead to the biggest conservative ascendance in modern times and the near-destruction of the Democratic Party.

My friend thought I had lost my marbles at the moment. Now, he’s whistling a different tune and has nothing much good to say about Obama. After the election, I’m going to remind him of what I said in 2008.

How will this affect the Democrat black Churches??

Will not mean a thing to them, they already have been saying that 60 million abortions since 1972 is no big deal, why would they give a rats a** about gay marriage?

The black Democrat Church is just a social club, they disregarded the Bible years and years ago. It`s really a crying shame, they once came from a rich tradition of Christianity, now they have sold their souls to the Democrat party.

For the most part they could care less about the 60 million plus that have been killed, they will care even less for the little ones that are taught they can have a boy friend or a girl friend.

Some of the black`s I am speaking about have already made statements, sure there will be sermons at some of the black Democrat Churches, but they are not about to vote Republican.

Really nothing new here,a vote for a Democrat is a vote for abortion, Gay Marriage, removal of Christ from classroom/public square etc. They should have been weeping with us the last 40 years or so (if they were Christian) but they really do not care one bit.

I hope/pray to be proven wrong

You are right, of course. People are not always consistent in their voting patterns. They may vote ‘no’ on gay marriage, but depending on their priorities, they may or may not vote for politicians who are for gay marriage.Hence, we see what happened in blue states of California and Hawaii.

It also depends on the politicians: whether or not they make it a paramount issue maters.

This guy I spoke to is a FTW LEO. He’s “ashamed” to vote Republican. It “goes against” how he was raised. How do you fix that sort of attitude? I don’t understand it. It’s a stigma they can’t get past. I’d venture a guess there are plenty more like him. How do we reach them?

"What states that he won last time, will he probably lose over this?"

With certainty: IN, NC, VA, FL, OH, NE (1)
Put into solid play: IA, WI, PA, MI

I think NV and NH are in play for different reasons.

I can't see where this gets Bobo one new state, but it might put CO out of Mittens reach. No great loss, don't need it.

I understand. What’s sad is Romney is making no effort by completely ignoring and shrugging his shoulders on pro-life, pro-traditional marriage issues among many.

I understand that economy is important, but the notion that we should completely ignore everything else is ridiculous.
