Obama backs gay marriage, answering speculation on 'evolving' position (Sign an Executive Order)

President Obama on Wednesday endorsed same-sex marriages, becoming the first sitting U.S. president to take that position following days of speculation about his "evolving" stance on the issue.

The president used a hastily called TV interview to make his position clear.

"At a certain point, I've just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married," Obama told ABC News.

The president, who was previously opposed to the unions, explained that he's gone through an "evolution." Obama said he initially thought civil unions would suffice as a vehicle to give same-sex couples the rights commensurate with those of heterosexual couples. "I'd hesitated on gay marriage in part because I thought civil unions would be sufficient," he said.

The only reason Obama finally revealed his "evolution" is because major gay donors were going to withhold $.

That, and I seriously think that Ø identifies with these perverts on a base level. The Gaystapo has him on a very short leash, and they undoubtedly have a hot-line to his Oral Office, just like the goonions have, to bark orders at him non-stop. I'm sure the success in NC last night had the phone in meltdown and the violent yanking on his leash must have been unbearable. Like the wussie he is, he acquiesced.

This alien creature in the White House is beginning to make me nauseated.....literally, figuratively and uncomfortably making me sick to my stomach.

Am I the only one feeling this way?

It is clear he is pandering to a special interest group but the thing that bothers me the most is the following excerpt from his statement:

... when I think about those soldiers or airmen or Marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained ...

I don't know about anyone else, but when I entered the military, I did not take an oath to fight on behalf of the president. He is Commander in Chief but loyalty is to the country. This may reflect his attitude but I certainly take offense to it.

No doubt, but usually he's very careful to not go public until it's very safe to do so.

This time the decision is not because he feels safe...it's because he needs money very, very, very badly.

Romney is going to have amazingly deep pockets. Obama's scared.

This just wrote off a whole slew of states, and may have solidified support for Romney in some swing ones.

People on the right may not like Rombot, but THIS is our third rail.

I pray his numbers crater after this idiotic statement.

Of course, in a post-modern America, who knows what will happen? Our culture is so perverted now it may boost his popularity. I still think, though, most people oppose the promotion of sodomy.

No you are not alone.

I think some of the speculation on this thread is accurate...the people who love sodomy and who have deep pockets told him if he didn’t celebrate their sinful behavior in public then they would withhold funds.

So he does this and they open their wallets.

He can sign an Executive Order, like he did with the military. We already knew he believed it so now he needs to go all out and finish his political suicide.

I think the biggest casualty in this will be the black vote. In all the states voting on gay marriage bans, the black community was the most skewed against gay marriage. Will these blacks vote GOP? Absolutely not. A large majority though will just stay home on election day. The enthusiasm for Hussien in the black community has been deflating. This announcement will deflate it even more.

I’ve heard that reason (money) given, but I believe it may be in a different way. He may have already been told that there is no way for things to improve sufficiently for him to win, and he’ll be rewarded in some other way for supporting this while he’s still in office since he’s going to crash & burn anyway.

I guess I’ll know for sure when I see what else he comes up with BEFORE the election; if he continues the attack on our culture, then I’ll know for certain he knows he has no chance of winning anyway and is just maximizing the Marxist damage.

Think the Catholic vote is still up for grabs? He’ll keep the 10% that would have supported him if he literally stamped on a crucifix; I don’t see him holding onto any others...

Given the popularity of “gay marriage” in this country (not the reported popularity, but the popularity as measured anywhere it has been put on a ballot), I’d think this is more of a retirement fund collection than political donations for the upcoming election. He just lost even more support (that won’t be easily won back), and even more Dem politicians have to avoid him through the election cycle.

This has consistently proven to be a losing issue for voters, and is a renewed attack on Christianity; it seems to me a straightforward acknowledgment that he has no hope of winning in November and will destroy what he can of our Western Civilization before he goes.

The difference between a flip-flop and enlightened evolution:

A flip-flop is when a conservative changes his/her position on an issue based on principle, and especially if the latter position is more conservative and less “progressive”, or if a liberal/socialist says it’s a flip-flop.

Enlightened evolution is when a liberal/socialist changes his/her mind based on polls, especially if the former position was based on principle or the latter position is more “progressive”.

The LBG Lobby thinks it’s “unfair” that they can’t be married like normal humans, so Obama placates them. Well, while he’s at it, isn’t it unfair that:

- Men or women can’t be married to more than one spouse?
- Adults can’t molest children anytime they want?
- Men or women can’t marry their favorite pet?

Let’s not discriminate!

The words “executive” and “order” are nowhere in that article. Please don’t make up your own facts and post them in the article headlines.

Good catch! As usual, Obama thinks it’s all about him.

He makes me sick. We have never had such a self-obsessed fool in the WH - ever. Or such a dangerous one.
