Hunger Strike Forces University to Build 'Gender Neutral' Bathrooms

The University of Minnesota-Duluth administration ceded to student Blair Moses's demand for gender neutral bathrooms on campus after he threatened and began an extended hunger strike.

In late April, Moses sent a letter to the administration with two demands. First, he insisted they "take immediate action to begin the process of designating more gender neutral bathrooms." Second, he demanded an "announcement stating the said day of change."

In the letter, Moses threatened that if his demands were not met by April 26, he would begin a hunger strike for three weeks or more.

I think I see the fellow's problem with regard to gender-neutral restrooms, though: He's got a woman's first name. There's no way he's involved with the BPP, not without changing *that* name to something that sounds African and/or Muslim.

The way to deal with such nonsense is through sarcasm. Flood the campus with threats to go on hunger strikes unless:

1) Students and faculty can attend class naked.

2) The school must give free ice cream cones on request.

3) The school mascot is changed to “The Fighting Pink Bunnies”.

4) All female students must wear fake mustaches on Wednesdays.

In my experience, there was a long line of urinals and several stalls. The urinals were all open to anyone in the bathroom.

While I was taking care of busines at one of the urinals, a young Japanese lady came out of one of the stalls and walked behind me to get out.

We westerners just aren’t accustomed to this and I’m definitely not a fan.
