Pro wrestler tells traditional marriage supporters: ‘Kill yourself,’ ‘Drink bleach’
LifeSiteNews ^ | 9 May 2012 | Ben Johnson

STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT, May 9, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – WWE wrestling superstar C.M. Punk strikes an aggressive pose inside the ring, but it seems he saved his hardest blows for supporters of the traditional family.

On Monday, the grappler told his Twitter followers he opposed North Carolina’s constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman, which passed in a landslide on Tuesday.

One of his followers responded, “Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo’s make me sick.” Punk then replied, “Kill yourself.”

He told another supporter of the nuclear family to “drink bleach.”

“Just chalk it up as the sort of rhetoric we’re used to now from the forces of tolerance,” Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) told LifeSiteNews.com.

In another tweet, Punk castigated the amendment’s supporters as “So many stupid people. Bigots. Talking about what’s ‘natural.’”

Ironically, he later posted a message stating, “I am a star. I’m fighting bigots here. Zero tolerance.”

The measure, he wrote, “is ridiculous.” He added, “The human race is embarrassing. #evolve.”

“It just never stops,” LarBarbera said. “As ‘gay’ power grows, the rhetoric on the other side becomes more and more caustic and contemptuous of anybody who disagrees.”

The 33-year-old, born Philip Jack Brooks, is one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE.

“If it was a conservative athlete who said to a pro-gay activist ‘kill yourself,’ I think his career would be over,” LaBarbera told LifeSiteNews.

Later Monday evening – after the wrestling federation’s anchor program Monday Night Raw – Punk softened his remarks and deleted the offending remarks from his Twitter feed.

“I apologize,” he responded. “I don’t want you to kill yourself. I want you to better yourself. Just as I want to better myself.”

He later added, “Sorry y’all. If I let anybody down, I apologize. I’ll make it up to ya and move forward with a better understanding of others feelings.”

However, he claimed he had merely decided to “stoop to others levels. Sometimes I fight fire with fire and it isn’t ways the best way.”

“Where are the voices of sanity on the liberal side that come down on these kind of things?” LaBarbera asked. “I think the message is out on the Left: anything goes – especially if you’re bashing a Christian.”

Pro-marriage, pro-family advocates have have increasingly become the targets of verbal and sometimes physical bullying.

“It Gets Better” campaign creator Dan Savage belittled students who walked out of his foul-mouthed talk at a high school journalism convention, dubbing them “pansy-a**ed.”

In April, a group of “Angry Queers” smashed church windows in Portland, throwing rocks through stained-glass windows at the Oregon satellite location of Mars Hill Church, because its pastor teaches sex outside of traditional marriage is sinful....

For years now the pinkos have made the false claim that Evangelicals are no better than Muslims, and the Evangelicals resort to violence.

Guess they are still hoping that claim will become true.

I can’t imagine the general target demographic for televised wrestling is much in favor of homosexuals, so this guy ain’t too bright to get mixed up in this.

Ah, the leftist non-apology apology.

“However, he claimed he had merely decided to “stoop to others levels. Sometimes I fight fire with fire and it isn’t ways the best way.””

Andy Griffith, before his conversion, said “You fight fire with a hose” and “You catch more flies with honey.”

What a loser “popular wrestler”.

Flipping around the dial last night, I came across Catholic League president Bill Donohue being interviewed by Piers Morgan. The host called Donahue “a dinosaur.” What happened to libs being open-minded, tolerant and DIEverse? I thought it was “mean-spirited right-wingers” who were limited to name-calling.

On the contrary. Developing a “bad guy” persona the fans love to hate is a staple of professional wrestling. This publicity stunt will put money is his and the organizers’ pockets. That’s not to say he isn’t in fact a poof. But I can picture him showing up in the ring in a wedding dress to set the stage for a virtual riot in the stands. Whatever sells tickets.

Thing is...Punk is supposed to be ‘one of the good guys’. His persona in the ring is one who ‘throws verbal pipe-bombs’ and everyone expects him to do this.

I’d be willing to bet he issued his ‘apology’ after the WWE high muckety-mucks DEMANDED he do so, and that was likely because they got a flood of emails from their fan base.

Eh. If the WWE is going to be like this, it’s dead to me.

Perhaps. But those old wrestling “villains” were kind of funny in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Just like the bad guys in old b-westerns.

But a homo wrestler? Half-naked and writhing around on a mat with some other sweaty dude? That’s just too sick. Leads to revulsion, not entertainment.

I was a big fan, but I unfollowed him on Twitter yesterday when he started pushing the gay marriage agenda. I’m wondering if he and Colt Cabana (non-WWE guy) have some kind of extracurricular relationship.

“Evolve”.

Really, that’s what that is.

Really from a historical sense it’s “de-volving”, but then again, facts have never gotten in the way of a liberal cliche before.

I am also so glad he said “zero tolerance”. Zero Tolerance is not thinking. It’s shutting off your brain and not using common sense. It’s actually what the “Two Minutes Hate” process is. It’s a conditioned reflex to not think anytime you think you see something but just start shouting and screaming and chanting mindless slogans.

Zero tolerance thinking has gotten us: schools that punish people for defending themselves against bullys; kids being suspended for bringing aspirin and midol to school; kids suspended for drawing guns on paper; kids expelled for having a swiss army knife in their pocket.

Zero tolerance thinking has also gotten us the current TSA screening process.

And this guy thinks it’s the pinnacle of thought and justice on how to handle things. Thank you Lord for the idiots opening their mouths and confirming for all, they are idiots. They parade their idiocy around and consider it to be great intellect. Thank you Lord for their pride and vanity.

This is the left’s idiocy.

When you are a zero tolerance person, in order to be “tolerant” of others, you have to be intolerant of those deemed to be intolerable.

Now the question is who made them the judge of the universe to get to decide what must be tolerated, and what must not be tolerated?

They don’t like it when you drive the conversation that way.

They will usually say they have “education” and teaching to do that. Then you hit them with I thought all you guys said personal morality needed to be kept out of schooling, isn’t that exactly what you’re trying to do to ME right now under the guise of painting ME as the intolerant one, according to YOUR moral standards? When was the vote that said YOUR moral worldview was superior than everyone else’s? When did I put you in charge of my moral conscience, and my kids’ moral conscience? I didn’t get that notice in the mail.

They do not like uppity thinking citizens.
