LOS ANGELES (CBS) — President Obama is coming to L.A. Thursday for a fundraiser at George Clooney’s house.
The President is scheduled to arrive at LAX around 6 p.m.
A who’s who of Hollywood royalty is expected at Clooney’s residence located near Fryman Canyon in Studio City.
President Obama is expected to take a helicopter to a secret landing zone near Clooney’s house.
Expect road closures up and down Laurel Canyon and on some residential streets through Studio City and environs between 5-8 p.m.
The Clooney fundraiser is expected to add at least $15 million to the Obama re-election war chest.
Commander Andrew Smith is with the LAPD told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO that if drivers should stay away from the area altogether.
“The hot tip I think would be to avoid the streets around Mr. Clooney’s house, where there’s narrow streets, you can count on it being pretty crowded,” said Smith.
Councilman Paul Krekorian, who represents the Studio City district where Clooney resides, tweeted that residents who live south of Ventura Boulevard, can expect “local access to the area will be virtually sealed off from about 8-10 p.m. All local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access.”
Krekorian said police are advising residents in the Fryman Canyon area to stay home or “make other arrangements for the day.” And he wrote, “there could be instances when you may be rerouted if you live in the region.”
With as many as 150 Hollywood stars and big wigs coming to the area, the Los Angeles Daily News said “Neighbors brace for starmageddon.”
The president is scheduled to stay overnight in Beverly Hills.

This arrogant president doesn’t give a rat’s A$$ about anybody it’s all about him.
It is Clooney’s private event; why does he get such care from LAPD and people need to make other plans if they live in the area.
Clooney should have made provision to get HIS GUESTS to a location that would not tie up a whole neighborhood and adjacent traffic.
