Romney to Reporter: So, Is There Anything of Significance You'd Care to Talk About?
Townhall ^ | 5-10-12 | Erika Johnsen

If we're to believe the White House's proffered narrative, Joe Biden's televised moment of solidarity for same-sex marriage on Sunday was unplanned, unscripted, and from-the-heart, randomly turning this into Gay Marriage Week and prompting President Obama himself to come clean on an issue that he had actually already made up his mind about, if just a bit sooner than he'd intended.

For the record, I don't buy the White House's narrative for a hot second. If there is one thing at which President Obama really is quite adept, it's campaigning, and Team Obama has time and again demonstrated itself a well-oiled machine of carefully coordinated messaging.

I'd wager that, in their quest to keep voters talking about anything, anything other than the economy, they sent Biden out to test the gay-marriage waters -- and if it went poorly, hey, it's just another Biden-gaffe!

So, besides creating a lot of buzz to assuage his hitherto unenergized hyper-liberal base (and, of course, we mustn't forget the youths yearning for their long-lost hero), the president raked in more than a million dollars yesterday

SNIP-----

And what's more, as Mitt Romney is out hitting the campaign trail, this is a great distraction to get people to grill Mitt Romney on delicate social issues instead of allowing him to hammer President Obama on his dismal failures with our most pressing problems like, you know, unemployment, or our $15 trillion national debt.

Exhibit A: In Colorado yesterday, after being asked about gay marriage, in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, and medical marijuana, Mitt Romney clearly started to lose a little patience (at the 2:15 mark): "Aren't there issues of significance that you'd like to talk about?"

Obama CANNOT run on his record, so they are trying to run on ANYTHING BUT, especially devisive SOCIAL ISSUES (that Romney doesn't really give a damn about), to fire up the Dem-Voting base.

I don’t think you can underestimate Biden’s ability to put his foot in his mouth. He’s a walking rhetorical accident. Occam’s Razor — the simplest explanation is almost always that somebody screwed-up.

Never bet against a Biden screw-up.

Obama could lose a couple of swing Bible-belt states based on this alone. And, his States-Rights caveat to his homomarriage announcement has pissed off a few lefties.

If this were a strategic move, I think Obama would’ve saved it for further into the election cycle. It’ll be old news to most by the time November rolls around ... except those who are really married to the issue (on both sides).

There is not going to be a brokered convention. Romney is the nominee of the party.

None of this crap is the least bit relavent and Rommey handled it pretty well.

No one but Obama cares to talk about these Non-Issues because we have a country to save and he has a record to hide.

“If this were a strategic move, I think Obama would’ve saved it for further into the election cycle.”

The Obama campaign is panicking, I think. This probably WAS supposed to come later.

Obama’s numbers are slowly sliding, especially among whites, his negatives are rising, the economy is getting worse, and Romney’s attacks haven’t even started yet.

His gay media and funding base was getting out of hand, and something had to be done.

“No one but Obama cares to talk about these Non-Issues”

CORRECTION:
No one but Obama, all those around him, and the mostly gay-run Media.

If he had told her “IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!” I’d have actually had to reverse my position and vote for him.......

Yes, we do, but let’s face the fact that it is just not going to happen.

Romney was not and is not my candidate, but we need to defeat Obamarx.

Your either voting for Romney or assuring 4 more years of Obama.

Wow...what a tough decision.

By the way, that’s called sarcasm.

Speaking of records, some day someone will wonder if Romney not running for reelection, and leaving office with a 34% approval rating, indicate a poor result from his single election victory.

yes... we do need to defeat Obama. but not with another socialist that a GOP congress will follow over the F’ing cliff.

Obamacare WILL become ROBOMNEY-care if romney gets elected.

Dont believe this BS about the GOP “holding little mittens feet to the fire” Its F’ing BS.

We NEED to convince the GOP to dump romney at the convention because if they dont they are going to lose. I WILL NOT be responsible for allowing my party to elect a F’ing SOCIALIST for pres. Because if they do nominate the bastard I (and a significant # of others) WILL turn on those M’er F’ers and make sure he NEVER occupies the WH.

I F’ing KNOW the dumb bastards THINK folks like me will go along with them after the convention because they think we hate Obama personally. But that just shows has F’ing stupid the GOP-e are. We hate Obama because hes a GD socialist not because of his party, race, stature, sexual persuasion. The same goes for Romney... We hate that bastard despite the fact that he is in our party because he a PROVEN SOCIALIST.

I swear on my life and the lives of those dear to me that I WILL NOT support Romney if he is the GOP candidate for Pres. I WILL do EVERYTHING I can to make sure that socialist and the POS GOP-e F’ers who allowed myparty to nominate a socialist LOSE come november.

Good F’ing work GOP-e... You turned ME and those LIKE me into your enemy... and we WILL tear your asses apart. Think about... do the right thing...

So Romney has already done more than McCain did in all of 2008 to push back against the media narrative.
