Palin to address SALT Conference

Posted on 05/10/2012 3:23:53 PM PDT by palin45potus

What is an irrelevant hockey mom doing at a place like this?

From the SALT website:

The SALT Conference is committed to facilitating balanced discussions and debates on macro-economic trends, geo-political events and alternative investment opportunities within the context of a dynamic global economy.

Now in its fourth year, we look forward to building on the success of previous SALT Conferences, where keynote speakers have included President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, Governor Mitt Romney, General Colin Powell, the Honorable Gordon Brown, Michael Milken and Steven A. Cohen.

With over 1800 thought leaders, public policy officials, business professionals and investors, the SALT Conference provides an unmatched opportunity for attendees from around the world to connect with global leaders and network with industry peers.

We had SALT I in 1972 and SALT II in 1979. Is this SALT III?

” where keynote speakers have included President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, Governor Mitt Romney, General Colin Powell, the Honorable Gordon Brown, Michael Milken and Steven A. Cohen. “

Not exactly the best of company, there....

I didn’t go to the SALT link and this announcement doesn’t say whether she is simply a speaker at SALT, or THE keynote speaker there.

Palin does Fox and reality shows. People complain about how she doesn’t do serious stuff.

Palin does serious stuff. People complain about that.

Awesome.

Thanks, hwkbeer.

What will she bring to the table that a consultant didn’t have to produce I wonder, since her experience in global historonics is like ours, somewhat limited to “citizen local”?

I’ve never been a Gov of a state nor have I ever sat on a gas and oil oversight board. Not have I ever run for any political office, from mayor to VP so I would imagine her experiance in global historonics is far superior than mine as “citizen local”

Having said that,I would imagine she is capable of bringing a lot to the table, or the people who put this thing together would not have asked her to give a keynote speech.

As far as consultants go,for all you and I know it could be Todd and and an internet connection.

I get your point, but given the list of speakers, I don’t quite get the congruence, myself. These guys are oil and gas monster orchestrators with decades and decades of “been there, made that, and done that”, and the others have been in national and international oil and energy politics practically since they were in knickers.

We’re looking at what, an 18 month governor who cut one good deal for Alaska (a population the size of Houston) and was elected on a corruption platform? It just seems a unique invitation for a real conservative to get a podium at SALT. Just sayin’.

You should ask the people who invited Gov.Palin to speak. They can answer your questions better than I can. While your at it maybe you should ask all those other international conference's why they asked her to speak.Apparently they see something in her that you do not.

Look, I’m looking for a little growth in Sarah, some sign she is putting together a serious political cabinet of sorts, some sign she is into policy homework to make herself a player, outside of her base. On the other hand, if this is the work of the conference and some talented booking agent for popular American personalities lending them a public speaker, I am a little disappointed if you don’t mind. Just looking for a few nuts and bolts that speak of building a little something.

This is how we knew after all that she was never going to run last time. There was simply nothing going on. There was no sign, nothing around her to suggest that she would, but for the endless suggesting going on that she would, if you know what I mean. We will know well in advance if she is truly interested in making a run, or just holding back and waiting for another appointment of some kind.
No offense meant.

“some sign she is into policy homework to make herself a player”

Seriously what planet have you been on for the last three years? From her infamous ‘death panels’ face book post in early 09 she was the one true conservative voice out there.Taking arrows from the liberal/democrat media and being undermined by the repub elites who want to hang on to power.

The only reason,in my mind she didn't run was because the Repub elites wanted Willard the socialist and pretty much told her they would not support her running.Turn off the propaganda box disguised as news and do some research. You can start by key wording Sarah Palin right her on FR.
You will find a treasure trove of info
