The man suspected of kidnapping four women in a Tennessee family and killing a mother and daughter was caught Thursday evening, police say.

Adam Mayes, 35, on America’s Most Wanted Fugitive List, was caught in Mississippi, Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards confirmed.

Police say the two daughters that Mayes allegedly abducted, Alexandria Bain, 12, and Kyliyah Bain, 8, were both found alive and safe.

Mayes and his wife, Teresa, are charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Jo Ann Bain, 31, and her daughter, Adrienne, 14. Their bodies were found buried outside the Mayes' home a week after they were reported missing by Jo Ann Bain's husband, Gary.

Apparently Mayes believed the two girls were his daughters so hopefully he didn’t molest them.

Safe, but their mom and sister are dead.

How do you get over something like this?

Very sad.

What could he possibly have hoped to accomplish by killing 2 people and kidnapping 2 more? These poor girls are now scarred for life. Pray for them.

Yes, very sad. This is something it will take these two girls a long time to get over if they ever do.

Thanks...It seems he has a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head but is still alive.

(CNN) — Two federal law enforcement sources now say that Adam Mayes — accused of murder and kidnapping in a case involving a Tennessee mother and her three daughters — was alive after suffering an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday night in Union County, Mississippi. One of those sources had previously said that Mayes was dead. A different law enforcement source had also stated that Mayes was dead. The two surviving sisters “are suffering from the experience of being out in the woods and from being kidnapped. They are suffering from dehydration and exhaustion, but appear OK,” a federal law enforcement source at the scene told CNN.
