Obama: 'Sometimes I Forget' Magnitude of the Recession (video)
The Weekly Standard ^ | 5-10-12 | THE ONE (in his own words)

Posted on 05/10/2012 10:56:03 PM PDT by GR_Jr.

President Obama, speaking earlier today at a campaign event in Seattle, Washington:

It was a house of cards and it collapsed in the most destructive, worst crisis that we’ve seen since the Great Depression," Obama said. "And sometimes people forget the magnitude of it. You know, you saw some of that in the video that was shown. Sometimes I forget."

Mitt Romney's press secretary, Andrea Saul, responds: "It’s not surprising that a president who forgot to create jobs, forgot to cut the debt, and forgot to change Washington has now admitted that he’s forgotten about the recession. In fact, it seems that the President has forgotten that he’s been in office for the last three-and-a-half years. In November, the American people won’t forget."

How could he forget? He seems to remind us of the “Bush recession” an almost-daily basis. He acts as if we’re now in the 12th year of the Bush presidency (at least blame-wise).

Lives in a 500,000 square foot mansion with hundreds of aides, dozens of chefs, private staff, hundreds of armed guards, anti-aircraft personnel, armored limosines, luxury purpose-built military jetliners and helicopters, a private retreat in Maryland, villas at $50,000 a week, vacations in Spain, Christmas in Hawaii, Ramadan dinners, hundreds of fundraising trips, etc, etc. Hard to see how he could forget the recession...

The Robamney’s are channeling their inner Bush Liberalism. They’re no smarter than a 5th grader. The statists have screwed this country since 1988.

Zer0 came to Seattle today, where he raised about $3 million in campaign donations. His first stop was the Madrona waterfront home of of Ann and Bruce Blume where about 70 guests came for a $35,800-per-couple brunch. And yes, Zero does not have to worry about going hungry. Seattle Kitchen host and recent James Beard Outstanding Restaurateur winner Tom Douglas prepared the meal for the brunch. On the menu: club salad, roasted turkey with spice rub and Yakima asparagus. Douglas has cooked for Obama five times and said the president is a fan of his coconut cream pie. It is obvious there are $3 million worth of donors who have shown they are stupid and have also forgot about the recession.

I bet Zero ate lots of coconut cream pie.

I think people forget 9/11 and the terror threat we face.

But at least Obama is facing the big issues, you know, like sodomy and how society should celebrate the act.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The first picture that popped into my head, obama exiting Air Force One. And the fact that obama and his wife repeatedly take separate jets to the same place, when going on vacation. All at the taxpayers’ expense.

And I'm just happy that gas is down about 30 cents.

I must admit that that is one of the best lines delivered so far in this years campaign. Well done, Very well done indeed!

How could he remember it when he and his beastly wife are living high-on-the hog on our dime? 17 vacations, designer clothes, NYC dinner dates, lavish parties with star- studded invitation lists and endless campaigning disguised as official trips. It's as if he and Pelosi are competing in a taxpayer spending pool with Panetta wanting in on the action.

I know someone who was at that brunch - a wonderful man and his wife. How he can support this lying fraud is beyond my capacity to understand.
