To the long list of right-wing, knuckle-dragging know-nothings who dare question so-called “global warming,” environmentalists now can add six Apollo astronauts, two rocket men who flew aboard Skylab, and a pair of former directors of the Johnson Space Center (JSC).
These veterans of America’s space program are among the 49 retired NASA employees who recently asked the agency to halt what they consider its unscientific advocacy of climate alarmism.
In a letter to NASA administrator Charles Bolden Jr., these rocket scientists, space explorers, and other men and women of reason requested that “NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) refrain from including unproven remarks in public releases and websites.” They added: “We believe the claims by NASA and GISS, that man-made carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data. With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.”

The chorus of skeptics who scoff at such “solutions” now has expanded by nearly 50 voices. They deserve respect and attention. The pro-warming crowd will find it difficult to dismiss as flat-earthers these patriots who have orbited this planet, as well as those who sent them to outer space and brought them safely home.

“contributions” to science.

Just looked over Bolden’s resume. He is definitely wrong about AGW, but it’s a little difficult to say he’s affirmative action. I don’t know him. But I think I can spot a person who has had his “ticket-punched” for him (i.e. Colin Powell).

It was 44 degrees here this morning. It’s the middle of May. It should be warmer (much warmer I think)
Where is the global warming they promised me. I’m tired of being cold!!!!
Add one more reason why these guys are my heroes. I am a female in my mid 50’s and always kept up with the space race as much as I could. I also remember news stories about Chuck Yeagar’s daring. Even though he wasn’t part of the Nasa flights- he was a pioneer all the same.
In the 60’s I was a kid and barely recognized or understood that what they did was historical. But I knew they were special men. They were brave and bigger than life to me. We don’t seem to have heroes of that caliber anymore.
God bless them for again showing their courage. From gay rights to global warming, if you go against these popular fads you’re often bullied and even harassed for taking a different stand.

Unfortunately, NASA is now "green" ...... as green as a Muslim flag.
