A high school classmate of presidential candidate Mitt Romney told ABC News today that he considers a particular prank pulled at Michigan's Cranbrook school to be "assault and battery" and that he witnessed Romney hold the scissors to cut the hair of a student who was being physically pinned to the ground by several others. "It's a haunting memory. I think it was for everybody that spoke up about it… because when you see somebody who is simply different taken down that way and is terrified and you see that look in their eye you never forget it. And that was what we all walked away with," said Phillip Maxwell, who is now an attorney and still considers Romney an old friend.

What is so funny here is that I can not remember one thing in my family when anyone talked about the queers..as a matter a fact I never knew what one was at all until I was around 24 yrs old..never heard any mention in school about someone different than myself..I felt like an idiot when I got a note telling me I was sexy and the note came from my assistant then I found out..I remember almost throwing up..thinking about it..

Guarantee you this is not “seared” in anyone’s memory 50 years later, and no one is interested in reconstructing possible crimes among high school kids.

I wouldn’t consider anyone who dredged up stuff that happened 50 years ago and spilled it to the enemy—the DNC and its surrogate—to be a friend. Most likely Maxwell was as much the ringleader in the haircutting event as Romney was.
How can Romney not remember whether or not he participated in an assault with scissors? I can clearly recall that I have never assaulted anyone with scissors.
Romney just isn’t honest. And, it is his flexible relationship with the truth that enables him to so regularly change his positions.
He’s not telling you this year that he’s pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-contraceptives and anti-military because this year he wants to be president.

A hard ass, the "kick ass kid" is the conservative teen that witnessing something like this, would have intervened and kicked the bully's tail and would have been willing to face down his little posse.
Oh for heaven’s sake. Yeah, it was wrong, but he was a KID at the time. (Do they really expect us to believe that Obama did nothing wrong as a kid? Yeah, right.)
My favorite story of such incidents came from a military buddy of mine who grew up on the Wind River Reservation near Riverton, Wyoming. A popular sport for male bonding of the local cowboys and Indians was to go into town on a Saturday night, lasso longhairs and give them the sheep sheer treatment. Sometimes it was fueled by alcohol, sometimes it was just for fun.
The local law enforcement people were very worried once when a gang of motorcycle hippies from Denver threatened to ride up one summer night and teach the whole town a lesson.
The local cowboys and Indians were waiting for them and a fight ensured. There were no injuries beyond a few scratches and bruises, but the final outcome was one broken storefront window and a motorcycle gang of newly minted short-haired hippies limping out of town southbound on highway #789 to the raucous singing of a combined cowboy and Indian chorus.
Shearing hippies was evidently a fairly popular pass time in that era, especially in Rocky Mountain ranching towns.

It wasn’t till I got in the military (Served KP one day at the outprocessing homo barracks at Lackland AFB) that I was told what they were. I was so ignorant of it that I could not believe such a thing could be and said to myself, “NO! That is just not right! Not Natural!”

Yes it’s all very interesting, in my view of things, if this incident occurred as reported (big if) Romney ranged from a wise ass to an all out A-hole.
However, it is difficult to assess where people stand 50 years later based on stuff they did in high school. As I already pointed out, why are the co-bullies now all wonderful sensitive guys, yet we are to assume that 50 years later Romney is not a better man?
Answer: Because they support Obama and Romney is running against Obama.
And as for my observation, yes many people view Romney as wimpy but this incident will lead many to believe he was a tough guy in high school.
