If it's "one size fits all" then why are there three unique variants in development? Your grasp of the facts is underwhelming to say the least.
the USMC could be happy doing CAS with old reliable A10s.
The Marine Corps would not be happy with the A-10 and said so back in the early 90s when Congress mandated that the Air Force transfer A-10s to the Marine Corps and Army. Fortunately. people who knew what they were doing, unlike yourself, were able to put a stop to that nonsense. The A-10 cannot operate from the deck of an LHA or LHD. Your solution would dictate flushing all the work already done on the JSF down the tubes and investing how many more billions into redesigning the A-10? In effect you advocate starting over. Simply brilliant.
Keep production going of F22 for air superiority missions,
The same aircraft that after spending billions of dollars developing has problems with a defective OBOGS which may result in killing it's pilot?
develop a similar carrier aircraft
How much in your "learned" calculations will that cost?
The F35 is a big waste of money and already our "partners" are bailing out
Who has withdrawn from the project?
There's a reason why people like you will never command anything more complex than a keyboard.
“Let us return to the days when defense spending was 50% of the budget; Eisenhower and Kennedy eras, because defending the Republic is a constitutional requirement. Implementing a welfare state isnt. Ignoring that 70% of the pie provides true insight into the BB rattling around inside your grape.”
I’m just fine with 50 percent of the budget going to the military. You’re right in that it’s the primary responsibility of the federal government. But I’m also tired of high taxes and a nearly 25 percent of our GDP going to the government. I want a smaller government. Smaller government, smaller welfare state, smaller military. Period.
