John Travolta's 'inappropriate behavior' got him tossed from Peninsula Hotel's massage spa: staff Travolta’s stay on the blacklist was about three years, and followed a complaint to the hotel’s bosses, said Michael Caputo, a one-time Peninsula masseur
Staff at the swank Peninsula Hotel claimed John Travolta was banned after several creepy run-ins with the spa’s male employees.
But the temporary ban in the early 2000s was eventually lifted and the “Pulp Fiction” star was welcomed back, says a former staff member.
Travolta was banished to the Fifth Ave. hotel’s “no-thigh zone” after his inappropriate antics led to an insurrection, said Michael Caputo, a one-time Peninsula masseur.
“Travolta would always request a man for his massage, but after a while no one would take him because of his inappropriate behavior,” Caputo said.
“It got to the point where they couldn’t find any men to take him, and they had to ban him,” recalled the masseur known as Magic Mike, who claimed he worked at the Peninsula from 1992-2008.

Well, you know what they say, if you play for both teams, you get more ice time.
This is how I processed the allegations as well. If the allegations are true, I don't necessarily think Travolta is gay, but rather sadistic. A man of great wealth and power who is subjecting young males to the same indignities he himself was subjected to. A classic cycle of abuse.
There is a problem now, because the medical guidelines are written so that a PT is very limited in time spent and area covered for any actual hands on work. They almost have to be in private practice and also licensed as massage therapists to do the necessary work.
In our area, the hospitals hire MTs, charge the time out at PT levels, pay the MTs very little and the patient still has to make a co-pay that is more than the going rate locally for a full hour of neuromuscular therapy. The charges from the hospitals are outrageous. Not even the PTs see the full fee charged.
Its good for the private practice medical massage therapists, but it does limit the availability of soft tissue rehab work for the public.
Your personal anecdote is typical of my husband’s clients. IMO, it is just an essential medical modality and as the population not only ages, but keeps working into their 60s and beyond, medical massage will continue to be utilized by more and more and people.
Yep, that is absolutely true.
The prognosis for surgery is not great, considering that you have already had the structure changed beyond any chance for ever going back. For myself, I would always prefer to keep utilizing soft tissue work and consider surgery a very last resort.
Then, there is the consideration of long term drug usage. As one of our referring docs says: “All drugs are poisons with beneficial side effects, which is why they should be used sparingly.”

Actually, I thought about it some more.
Seems like some rich, powerful men made Travolta submit to their whims when he was young and vulnerable. Now he is rich and famous and he is going after young, relatively poor, males who likely remind him of himself when he was their age. In short, his real fantasy is to give what he received so long ago.

Yep. And I think what happened with Cruise is once he did the “deed” he was cast in these teen flicks but one became a monster hit, Risky Business, and that is why his career took off. Otherwise like you said, he would have disappeared.
I can think of a ton of those teen flicks I saw when I was a kid, and almost all of those kid actors in them I never saw again simply because they weren’t in hit movies.
Oh yeah and another thing is the drugs. My old girlfriend had a brother who did lighting in movies and he told me one day “just think of any A lister and 90% they do hard drugs. They sit in their trailers and all you hear all day is sniiiiif sniiiiff”.
That I didn’t believe too much until 10 years later there was this biker bar in this sleazy part of Manhattan that all these A list celebs were hitting. Harrison Ford, julia Roberts, Darryl Hannah, Drew Barrymore, just name it. Even Paul McCartney if you can believe it. It was in the paper the next day. And nobody could figure out why all these stars were going there. Until it was revealed the owner was a coke dealer! LOL! Who ODed on the stuff BTW. And after he did, no more celebs went there. No more dealer mo more drugs.
That’s why I think all these idiots were going down to visit Castro as well. He was setting them up with the good stuff. Naomi Cambell and Kate Moss went down there to visit him, obviously because they are sooo interested in socialism. Yeah right. Castro was trading coke for praise which BTW is why I believe Oliver Stone was so fanatical about him. Stone is a huge fan of the white stuff besides being a lefty. I suspect the same deal is going on with Sean Penn and Chavez. To me it didn’t make sense these meetings. I mean yeah OK, they are into socialism, but I don’t go and visit Wall street because I’m into capitalism. No, there is something else going on there and to me it’s the drugs. They are selling praise for coke. They betray their country so they can get high.
I just don’t get massages, unless my wife wants to give me one. I don’t care for guys touching me, and I feel sorry for any woman that has to knead my beat-up old bones. (My wife thinks I look fine, but I think her vision is going.)

The masseusse who’s suing him says that’s what Travolta told him. Stories like this have been talked about for years, the Hollywood Casting Couch. Celebrities laugh it off and say that’s the old Hollywood but really, why would anything change? It seems that’s the way some things get done in the movies and the music business. I do sort of feel sorry for him and the others, who felt it was the only way they could get their chance at fame. It must be terrible to feel that desperate.
Well, that’s usually the excuse that child abusers use. “The cycle of abuse”, they do to others what was done to them. It truly is pathetic.
I sense that’s why the Church of Scientology targets these guys, they prey upon the tremendous guilt they feel.
He probably did or said something to make the Church of Scientology angry.
He faced a similar accusation previously. It was said he was on the outs with the COS and as soon as he returned to the fold the homosexual accusations ended.
I wonder when I read those if they are aimed more at the court of public opinion rather than a court of law. I suspect the former.
I suspect the management of the Peninsula Hotel will soon get a visit from the Church’s lawyers.
