The North American Aerospace Defense Command scrambled the two jets that intercepted the Piper 28 aircraft over northeast Los Angeles at approximately 9:45 a.m. PDT, and followed it until it landed about five minutes later and was met by local law enforcement, NORAD said in a statement.
The Piper landed at the small airport in El Monte about 15 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, local police Lt. Dan Burlingham said.
The pilot, who was flying alone, was detained by police until Secret Service Agents arrived, he said.

A Piper 28 can do about 140 mph airspeed at best. Hardly a threat except right at take off and landing.

I feel sorry for these pilots who get caught up in one of these roving restricted airspace deals. I don't think most people remember to check the NOTAMs every time they fly.
Even if the SS cuts the guy loose quickly, he is still going to have to deal with some tool from the FAA trying to take his license.

As a current licensed pilot you get T.F.R.’s regularly when obozo or Joe the drunk are going to be near by.
Same for when the Cape is going to shoot off something or maybe an airshow.
