Ron Paul Supporters Boo Romney Son Off Stage at Ariz. GOP Convention
The Blaze ^ | May 13, 2012 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul booed one of Mitt Romney’s adult sons off the stage Saturday at the Arizona Republican Party convention as he tried to consolidate support for his father.

Josh Romney’s speech to state GOP members was cut short by jeers from Paul backers at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, the Arizona Republic reported.

The state’s convention was to elect delegates for the national convention in August, where the former Massachusetts governor is expected to wrap up the nomination to take on President Barack Obama.

“We cannot afford four more years of President Obama,” said Josh Romney, the third of Mitt Romney’s five sons. “We need someone to step in there and turn things around.”

But Josh had to stop repeatedly as people booed and yelled for Paul, who has continued campaigning in the Republican primary. All other challengers, including Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, have dropped out of the race, and Romney has a commanding lead over Paul in the estimated delegate count.

But Paul supporters have begun flooding state conventions, recently winning control of delegate majorities in Nevada and Maine.

Josh Romney tried to pacify the crowd by taking a moment to recognize his father’s former rivals. It appeared to have little effect: Telling delegates to vote for his dad as he finished up, the crowd “exploded with competing boos and cheers, cutting him short.”

According to the Republic, some attendees said they heard Paul supporters chanting outside that Mitt Romney was “the white Obama.”

Cut and Run can bloody the convention. He can not do anything else. He has never been able to accomplish anything. He is in this to fill his campaign coffers which he will take home, just like his earmarks. Only this time he will be able to keep them for himself.

Typical answer when a person is unable to respond. Do not feel bad though, Paulbots do it all the time

"The Paul supporters have to be some of the most obnoxious supporters of any candidate I've ever seen. I truly can't stand Paul. That said, I don't care for Romney much either and only prefer him to Paul because he doesn't support legalizing drugs and prostitution and isn't a whacko on foreign policy."

A co-worker and loyal Ron Paul supporter recently went to her home state GOP convention (Nevada). She said that the state Republican parties are corrupt and cheat in order to install the GOP candidate of choice (ie chosen by the elite Republican leaders). This year (apparently, at least so far) Ron Paul delegates dominated the Nevada state convention. But from what I understand, they (Ron Paul supporters) have been sidelined, sidestepped, outmaneuvered with obscure rules, and just plain old ignored for quite a few election cycles.

Can't say that I support Ron Paul or that I defend his supporters or their behaviour. I know very little about the man or his supporters. Except that I am led to believe that he can win votes from Republicans, Independants, and Democrats too. Supposedly. He is anti-Federal Reserve, and anti-war. That about sums up what I know about him.

But I can say that I find it interesting the way the media is ignoring Sen Paul, in spite of the fact that he has many delegates. IMHO our 2-party system is a corrupt, force-fed, symbiotic / incestuous system that does no credit to our Republic.

If he gets the nomination, I will vote for him; figure out who I am talking about --maybe either of them, I dunno. Guess I am saying that I am enough ready for a change that I can put up with Ron Paul's peculiarities. Any anti-federal reserve candidate is bound to have some peculiarities.

Yes, there is that possibility. There’s that possibility, no matter for whom I cast my vote.

I’m putting my time and money into helping conservative candidates for both the House and the Senate.

If we can gain control of both Houses, the president (either obammy or Willard, will be pretty well defanged.

The ones who were used as an example by the poster who said he lived in that area once upon a time.

What kind of Mormons do you imagine they were?

This is an excellent summary of the situation, from what I have heard and read:

Quoting yefragetuwrabrumuy's post in it's entirety:

"In all fairness, the Paul backers were behaving themselves for the most part, and they were clearly the majority in the room, until Josh Romney lit a fire under them. "

" To explain why this annoyed them so much, is because they had put in the work at the ground level, as they have in several states, to insure that, no matter the popular vote in those states, the delegates actually sent to the convention are Paul supporters. This is not underhanded or cheating in any way, just that they took the time to learn the rules in each state, so as to maximize their effect at the convention, no matter who they are supposed to support on the first ballot."

" But this meant that at this meeting, there were two different slates of delegate candidates. Those who are supporters of Romney, many of whom didn’t even bother to attend, and were just filling the role of “somebody” who would go to the convention if they were chosen, to cast a “whatever” ballot for Romney; and dedicated and determined Paul supporters. People who care and have worked hard."

" And Josh Romney then told this room full of Paul supporters that, “for party unity”, they should elect a slate of Romney supporters instead of going to the convention themselves."

" This is little more than the sneering contempt that the onerous Mitt Romney has shown for both Paul supporters *and* conservatives and their ideas, from the very start."

" 'I don’t like you, and I don’t need you. You are unimportant to me, but you *have* to vote for me because I am the chosen one, and if you don’t, Obama will be reelected.' "

" To hell with that a-hole. While I do not personally support Ron Paul, though I like a lot of his ideas that overlap with conservative ideas, that only he has the chutzpah to say; I think that conservatives will owe him a GIANT favor if his people can block the onerous Romney from getting the nomination, so that a conservative can."

" And that’s important, because by themselves, Paul’s supporters can’t get him the nomination. But just about *any* conservative would be a better nominee and president."

" This is really about saving our country. If Ron Paul’s people can help conservatives do that, then they are our brothers."

To say the least I am somewhat distressed to find that the folks who think the Paulbots are terribly impolite are the same folks who find Romney delightful.

Actually, Romney isn't likeable at all ~ he's also terribly impolite, and his followers are among the most obnoxious people I've ever encountered on the internet.

And I'm not even a Paul supporter.

So, what is it gang, are the Paul supporters "obnoxious" because you want us to believe they are, or are they "obnoxious'?

I suspect it's a coverup

May I add that when the failure to put together a Virginia Republican Primary was laid bare for all too see the Mittbots blamed it on "others" not learning and following all the rules.

Now they kvetch when "others' learn those rules and take away their delegates.

I'm feeling so sorry for them ~ NOT.

so in America, in your opinion, it is fair game to not let the other person speak because you don’t agree with him. I don’t live in that America...YET. It is heading that way though with people like you. How about letting the stupid person talk and then you get up and show where he is wrong and express your better idea? Did that ever cross your mind? How stupid was it for a minority of men to stand up and say stupid things like , lets go to war with England and become a free nation. In those days, that was considered a stupid idea, until it happened.

Muawiyah, the Romney supporters are merely "obnoxious". But the Paul supporters are obnoxious!

Divine Providence
is the Key to the
Saving of America

The government keeps getting bigger, our chains keep get getting heavier, and our nation continues to decline, under both Democrat and Republican elites. The reason for this is that the people have lost the capacity to grasp the principle of Divine Providence and how that principle plays a central role in determining whether America rises, or falls.

We need to use this election cycle to begin the process of resurrecting in the people a new-found appreciation for the principle of Divine Providence. This is our only hope.

We can begin this process in this election cycle by coming to terms with this great truth, by studying it, and coming to understand it deeply, that we set America back substantially by allowing Romney to cast a deep inky black shadow of godlessness upon the once bright landscape of the Republican Party.

Please see:

VOTING FOR ROMNEY
IS TO VOTE FOR THE
DEATH OF AMERICA

The Republican elite has trained us to think inside a box they have created, which they enforce through the darkest side of peer pressure, which is public character assasination. And this box is like a little cage, inside of which they have mounted a circular treadmill, it is commonly referred to as a rodent exercise wheel, in which the little squirrel is free to run all day long, on their behalf, huffing and puffing, bleeding great drops of steaming sweat, thinking that miles and miles are covered in the direction of victory, when in fact the little squirrel is going worse than nowhere. The elites are carrying the cage downhill the whole time. Open the cage door, and climb out, and begin to allow real and valid outside-the-box ideas to populate the mind. To see is to believe.

Now is the time for all good men, and women, to stand up and shout, with one unified voice, "No more pet rodent exercise wheels for us!" We will choose to serve the Lord God, and finally, put our country back into an upward trajectory towards the realization of that Shining City on the Hill spoken of so eloquently by the late President Ronald Reagan.

Again, please see:

VOTING FOR ROMNEY
IS TO VOTE FOR THE
DEATH OF AMERICA

I’d like to ask RP supporters one thing. Why was he seen hanging around the very left-wing Code Pink bunch? That there, creeps me out about Ron Paul! Don’t we have enough problems with this bunch? They are Obama’s buddies!
