MONTERREY, Mexico—Federal authorities in Mexico are investigating a mass murder after 49 mutilated bodies were dumped on highway leading to the Texas border. Investigators say identifying the victims will be difficult since the bodies were missing their heads, hands and feet.

These days the risky road north to the Texas border is more dangerous than ever but young immigrants still make the trip.

Texas Governor Rick Perry sent a letter to President Obama complaining the state is coping with a surge in illegal immigrants who are minors and traveling alone.

At a migrant shelter in Monterrey, men share tips and horror stories about what lies ahead.

Casa del Migrante, a shelter run by the Catholic Church is a temporary safe haven for weary travelers who need a hot meal and a place to rest for a few days. Most are from Central America.

"I want to study and get ahead, "said Jesus Calderon, a baby faced immigrant from Honduras who is making his way to Houston.

So how many legal migrants die in their attempt to cross the border?

I’m guessing, not many.

Besides blaming Americans, what are Mexican authorities doing about the deaths of these people who were killed an mutilated.

Mexico is not a country, it’s a criminal enterprise.

There is one thing we’re all forgetting. These people come here wanting to work. While millions of our citizens don’t want to work. I say we work out a trade.

how nice they want to work, but they also want to send their earnings outside of the country to pay for their families, who may also come illegally, too, and those families invariably end up on social services assistance in self-segregated communities that hold no allegiance to the USA. How does that benefit the local economy or taxpayer or America?

It is said, we can't afford to send all illegals home. I say we can't afford to keep on keeping them.

CHICAGO (WLS) - Chicago cops who tried to shut down a noisy party early Saturday were attacked by a Mexican “Ranchera” band which tried to steal one of their guns, prosecutors alleged.

Musicians Federico Villa-Martinez, 35, and Antonio Villa, 43 — brothers who perform together as “Dueto Hermanos Martinez” — both appeared in court in bloodstained clothing Sunday.

Together with Lino Sarabia-Martinez — the 24-year-old boyfriend of Villa’s daughter — they allegedly attacked two officers who were responding to a noise complaint shortly before 3 a.m. at Villa’s home in the Northwest side neighborhood of Hermosa.

Villa-Martinez allegedly punched one officer in the face and threw a full bottle of booze at him, while Villa allegedly grabbed the other officer’s night-stick and beat him over the head with it. Both Villa and Sarabia-Martinez then allegedly tried to grab the second officer’s gun from his holster during a struggle in the alley of the 4700 block of West McLean.

The attack left the second officer in need of 10 staples to a bloody gash on his head, prosecutors said.

All three defendants said they had been drinking, according to a police report. They were ordered held on bail of $100,000 each Sunday by Judge Maria Kuriakos-Ciesel.

All Mexican nationals, they asked that the Mexican consulate be informed of their arrest.
