Newsweek Contributor Compares Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin on MSNBC
Newsbusters ^ | 5/13/12 | Noel Sheppard

As NewsBusters reported Sunday, Newsweek/Daily Beast senior contributor Michelle Goldberg called Ann Romney "insufferable" on MSNBC this morning. Seconds later, she also compared the wife of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary). As Mark Finkelstein previously noted, Goldberg began her Romney attack on Up with Chris Hayes by saying, "It can't only be me that maybe initially saw Ann Romney as maybe a sympathetic or neutral figure but who is increasingly seeing her as someone who is kind of insufferable because of the way she's milking this thing."

Ann Romney says: "Michelle Obama is lovely."

Democrat says: "Ann Romney is like Hitler ... or Stalin."

And, yes, the blame for the incivility will be placed on us.

I looked her up, she got a Masters in Journalism from Berkeley. Enough said.

“Newsweek Contributor Compares Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin”

Geeze, you would think Ann Romney signed off on indefinite detention for citizens or something.

Reading the quote that Ann Romney wrote, which I think was very beautiful, and then listening to the harpy and watching her cohort nodding approvingly just made me think of how wacked and lost some leftist women are. They are so out-there that they could be actually committed to an asylum.

The rule is: liberals/radicals can say and do whatever the hell they want, and will never be called out or criticized in the media for same.

Conservatives have to choose their words with great care, lest they be the target of out of context quotes, and other attacks.

Unfortunately, with a liberal media, the liberals are allowed greater leeway in saying stupid things, saying things which can be misinterpreted, or saying downright mean things such as quoted here.

It looks as though though this women Goldberg confuses being frigid with being a lesbian, and getting a degree with a progressive finishing school with being intelligent.

People are sick of the what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right mentality that happens when liberals are in charge. Unhappy, self-loathing lesbians are not to be taken seriously as everything about them is just wrong and they twist themselves into pretzels to make it all seem right.

Of course. Its their media.

Our task is to build our own and abandon theirs. FR is a good first step but of course we have more to do.

It still annoys me that we've seen this problem for decades, and only now are taking baby steps to correct it.

Fox was a breath of fresh air for a while but its ultimately unsatisfying, it doesn't even begin to be the kind of media we need to be building.

The truth is Hitler is in the White House, and, our job in November is to make sure Uncle O does not become Uncle Joe.

Waaaaaait....Hitler and Stalin were socialists, so wouldn't that make Moochelle the analog?

Honestly, sometimes I think these people (Democrat operatives) are actually helping Romneybama, worried that Romney can’t pull this win out by himself, because he’s too damn soft, vacuous, and blank, while Ann is too generous with Moochelle, and so these Democrat operatives are ACTUALLY trying to help the empty suit Romney, on purpose.

I mean WHY else would they want to make this empty suit a sympathetic charactor, by overplaying their hand?

Michelle Goldberg (born 1975) is a Brooklyn-based journalist and the author of the books Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism, and The Means of Reproduction: Sex, Power, and the Future of the World. She is formerly a contributing writer at Salon.com

Michelle Goldberg took a close-up look at right-wing religion in America and has reemerged to tell others just what she found there - a hypnotic mix of Jesus, community, and ballot box activism. Her new book, Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism, explores the parallel universe that threatens our reality-based world, and indeed, could replace it. We can just hear Thomas Jefferson rolling over in his separation-of-church-and-state grave. Michelle Goldberg talked about Hitler, Scalia, Christian revisionist history, and Christian reconstructionism.

I didn’t support Mitt Romney in the primaries and I think he is one of the weakest candidates the GOP has put forth in years (worse than Bob Dole or John McCain)!

However, the constant attacks against his wife (”never worked a day in her life”, “creepy”, insufferable” , etc) are beyond ridiculous.Hearing these two hags diss a woman who has never, to my knowledge, said anything bad about anyone is making me so mad that I hope Romney wins just to spite them!

Christ. On TV, I said Ann Romney’s milking of the Hillary Rosen flap was insufferable. Now Twitter is full of messages saying I hate moms.

Isn’t Stalin one of their heroes? If it wasn’t for hatred the left wouldn’t have anything to offer.

Pray for America
