SANFORD, Fla. — WFTV has learned charges against George Zimmerman could be getting more serious.
State prosecutors said Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, profiled and stalked 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before killing him, so the FBI is now looking into charging him with a hate crime.
Zimmerman admitted to killing Martin in February during a confrontation. However, he claims the shooting was in self-defense. He's facing a second-degree murder charge, which carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. But if Zimmerman is charged and found guilty of a federal hate crime involving murder, he could face the death penalty.
FBI investigators are actively questioning witnesses in the retreat at the Twin Lakes neighborhood, seeking evidence for a possible federal hate crime charge.
Wasn't good enough to just rob the guy, they had to humiliate and ridicule him. Then post the video on a rap site.
I watched the two videos a couple of times...made me so freakin angry.
This WAS indeed a hate crime.

"Zimmerman's father is white but his mother is from Peru. On his voter registration form, for example, Zimmerman checked off the "Hispanic" box. While police described him as "white" Zimmerman's own father calls his son a "Spanish-speaking minority."
Is this the diversion of the week?
Between the FBI and the SS of late, neither has had a shining news image. This will not help them, either. Do they not know or think about these things?
I'm not an attorney, but knowing Obama and Holder, are they somehow connecting this to Obamacare?
It may be time to start seriously tracking names here.
Wonder why that obvious thought doesn't occur to the persons who automatically assume racism. Actually it appears from the transcript of the call that Zimmerman wasn't even sure of Martin's race when he started following and observing him. He was doing so from a distance at night, and called the police because of what he considered suspicious behavior. "This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around looking about." (transcript) When asked by the dispatcher, "OK, is he White, Black, or Hispanic?", Zimmerman says, "He looks black." Just looks. He has already called the police, and he's not sure yet of the race.
Later, after answering some more questions, Zimmerman says that Martin is "coming towards me". Only then, after seeing him more clearly, does he add, "He's got his hand in his waistband. And he's a black male." Now he's sure of the race. Before he didn't even know for sure.

Maybe we ought to give them the civil war they so desire. When possibly innocent people get politically convicted of crimes, rather than the rule of law, it’s time.
I can't believe that the FBI has joined "Obama's people" en masse.
Today, three houses over, a neighbor was burglarized, and mail stolen midmorning.
As a neighborhood, we have a meeting in three days to organize a neighborhood watch; it's good to know that when we begin walking our streets and alleys, and following strangers to the neighborhood, we'll be committing a hate crime.
Incidentally, with this redefinition of "hate crime," at least a half dozen black on white violent crime must be prosecuted as hate crimes too.
Things will get interesting really fast.

It was actually two questions on the 2010 census. Question 8 asked are you Hispanic. Question 9 asked what is your race.
Not directly, but they are both part of a larger principle that has been at work over the last 80 years.
For many decades the Supreme Court pretended basically that the Commerce Clause did not limit the scope of what the federal government could do, at least in any meaningful way.
For those powerful interests who wish to convert the federal government into a central government with complete authority over the American people, the Commerce Clause became a handy catch-all with which to legally justify the power grab.
Want the power to order every American to buy health insurance? Use the Commerce Clause. Want the power to get involved in local crimes, where it might be politically useful in order to conduct federal show trials or to persecute politically-unfavored classes of persons? Use the Commerce Clause.
In recent years the Supreme Court has started to read meaningful limitations into the Commerce Clause, and it’s hard to see how the new version of the federal hate crimes law can be sustained as an exercise of the Commerce Clause.
The FBI isn’t charging anybody with anything. Barry’s racist goon, Eric the Holder, is running this show. Eric don’t like Mexicans. Especially the “white” ones.
