DENVER (AP) - A last-ditch effort by Colorado's governor to give gay couples in the state rights similar to married couples failed Monday after Republicans rejected the proposal during a special legislative session.
Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper had said the special session was needed to address a "fundamental question of fairness and civil rights."

bump to Colorado
I guess this means Obama will call Colorado a “bunch of haters”.
Gov. Chickenchoker loses again.
someone needs to post that picture of bill clinton bursting into the press conference with Obama holding his head ...
and put a caption on it that says... Did some one say .. Choke the Chicken!?! above Bill.
Curiosly, when liberal advocates of gay marriage are asked if their policy also would allow polygamy or polyandry , they recoil in horror and insist that it does not. However, logic demands that it does. I would ask how same-sex parents are going to react when Utah public schools insist on indoctrinating the children that LDS-related polygamy is just as “normal” as same-sex “marriage”. The fact that this will be an issue will show yet again that gay “marriage” is not about marriage at all, it is about forcing the rest of us to approve of repugnant sexual immorality, something that LDS polygamists never demanded.
For gays, it would make no sense to deny “marriage to members of the same family. No offspring mitigates any danger of genetic problems.
“The fact that this will be an issue will show yet again that gay marriage is not about marriage at all, it is about forcing the rest of us to approve of repugnant sexual morality...”
And that is gay marriage in a nutshell.
That is a logical statement. Of course I still tossed my cookies after reading it.
I suspect the next goal is to lower the age of consent in same sex "relationships". So little boys can experience the joy also.
for once our side used everything in the book. i am proud of the speaker for not caving.
Are there NO Democratic politicians that dissaprove of perversion.
An entire party chooses to approve of Sodomy?
It truly is Biblical, not since Sodom has such a thing come to pass.
Hickenlooper just took it in the pooper.
Redefining the English word "marriage" has nothing to do with "civil rights" or "discrimination" or "hate" or anything else. It's all about the faggots trying to stick a thumb in the eye of normal, decent America.
I am just so very, very, very tired of all of this. Turned TV on tonight for a while - all the twosomes on HGTV looking for houses were gay guys, the theme on House was about a relationship between gays. Enough already.
I don’t believe this.
I drove three hours, paid $12 parking and spent all afternoon and evening in the committee room to speak against this bill. I didn't get the chance to speak, but it was killed in committee anyway.
I believe you did that. I just don’t believe that elected Republican officials killed it. There’s more to the story.
which also forces us to publically repudiate our Faith and thereby our mortal soul, whichever way you choose to look at it. Sorry, no can do.
“The fact that this will be an issue will show yet again that gay marriage is not about marriage at all, it is about forcing the rest of us to approve of repugnant sexual immorality, something that LDS polygamists never demanded.”
Excellent point, Buckwheat.
There is more to the story, the author of the bill let it sit in his committee for 8 weeks and then released it with just enough time so that the house republicans would have no time to review and make changes before voting on it. If it was so important why did the gay activist legislator employ the democrat tactic of passing a bill then look at what is in it.
Then the always leftist hack Democrat Governor John DickinPooper demands a special session to get this vital legislation passed. Jobs bills, not so much.
Hick-when he was campaigning attended a Valentines Day Gay Event where he said he thought homosexuals should be allowed to marry. When given the opportunity to pres that issue he pushed the State Legislature into special session to advance his despotic intent. The People voted NO! to Ref I Civil Unions. If we are all now like the Reprobate Ferrendino suggests as Sodom or like unto Gomorrah then the oppressive State can manifest contempt for the people and advance immorality at will.
